http://www.bloodyelbow.com/ IIRC he is still under contract with Strikeforce but now M-1 Global's tentacles are no longer wrapped around his legs and neck. He should be able to compete on cards separate from Fedor Emelianenko now (he was only allowed to compete at the same events prior) and when his Strikeforce contract runs out, he'll easily be able to jump ship to the UFC. Good work GSP!
Re: Horray! Gegard Mousasi ditches M-1 Global Gegard supposedly still has a contract with Dream as well.
Re: Horray! Gegard Mousasi ditches M-1 Global nice, Mousasi in the UFC somewhere down the line is exciting.
Re: Horray! Gegard Mousasi ditches M-1 Global So as it turns out M-1 never had Mousasi, or so they now claim. Vadim Finkelstein, yesterday: "Mousasi has never had a contract with M-1.... M-1 was helping him grow. Mousasi has always been friends with us and Fedor and in return we were helping him go forward." Dunno why someone would opt out of an informal relationship... kind of flies in the face of what Mousasi said himself: "During the time I spent under their wing, M-1 Global, as a promoter and management company, allowed me to achieve many great things." Ok somebody is lying. Either it is Mousasi, who has nothing at all to gain by saying he was represented and promoted by M-1, or Finkelstein, who is doing his best to save face and make it seem like his second biggest client didn't ditch. Can you guess who is dishonest? Bonus points if you recall that M-1 lied to Mousasi (according to the man himself) claiming that the UFC gave him a shit offer when in fact the UFC never made any offer, leading to Mousasi signing with Strikeforce instead--naturally, where the other M-1 cash cow (I mean happy client) was working. WAS working because as of right now he seems to not be under any Strikeforce control.
Re: Gegard Mousasi ditches M-1 Global [update: M-1 denies ever representing him?! huh sigh...why does M-1 have to be so shady. Seriously, they have nothing to gain, people just laugh in their faces because of it.
