This is something that we wanted to do a week after the season to do a year in review and look ahead to the future. We got interrupted a little bit and then we talked about it some more to see if we should have it at all ? and the it was a good opportunity for me to check out my plumbing. I can make general comments about our season up coming and I?m sure you will have some answers of you own."

"As far as regular season goes we ended up with the 8th best record in the league and that came about during a season of significant change for our team and roster obviously with the trade of Doug and Chris during the season. I thought the team during the regular season maintained a high level of play throughout the change and we suffered some significant injuries again which is nothing we can do about that. Ended up as the 2nd highest scoring team in the league and I thought our team did a successful job of staying together and continued to play at a high level."</div>

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Kings likely will have three free agents of their own: shooting guard Cuttino Mobley, forward Darius Songaila and swingman Maurice Evans. Should Mobley decide to terminate his contract, he will be an unrestricted free agent. By extending offer sheets to Songaila and Evans by June 30, the Kings can make them restricted free agents and match any offer they might receive from other teams.

Petrie said because Songaila has played the past two seasons with the Kings, they will have the right to exceed the salary cap and pay him up to the league's average salary.

To retain Evans, Petrie said, the team likely would have to match an offer sheet by using an exception. All of these situations could be affected by the new collective bargaining agreement if and when it is reached.

Trades also are a possibility. And Petrie said improvement regarding defense, athleticism and backcourt playmaking will be sought.

"Improvement defensively in the half-court is a combination of personnel and emphasis," he said, "Just like the offense is a team concept, defense has to be as well. And it starts with each player's individual commitment to guard his own man. If you're just crossing half-court and you're already calling for help, that's not going to be good for your team defense."</div>

i dont want to trade bobby jackson. i think that sacramento might be the one team who truly knows his value and im not so sure that he wants to leave. as for peja for artest, i would do that in a heartbeat.

btw as a clippers fan also, i wouldn't touch lamar odom with a 39'1/4" stick.
