Dana White told reporters at the post-UFC 129 press conference that he thought Nick Diaz being the next contender to Georges St-Pierre's title was interesting and something he could look to make happen, despite Diaz being under contract with Strikeforce. White is heading to Stockton, CA, home of the Scrap Pack, this week to talk to Diaz about his future in the sport and many have speculated he will offer Diaz a title fight in order to dissuade Diaz from taking a professional boxing bout. Diaz's teammate and unsuccessful title challenger Jake Shields said that he wants to see Diaz get the next shot. Diaz himself wants the fight if the money is right, as he indicates in the interview below. He is one of the most exciting fighters in all of MMA and will take the fight to GSP in what could be the first UFC-Strikeforce world title unification bout. If the fight is booked, expect it to happen in autumn at the earliest.
Another reason this seems so probable is that there isn't a contender in Strikeforce for him. When you're talking about Tyron Woodley as a title contender you know your division is weak.
"I'm not one to talk no shit." Going to be a sad day when the Diaz bros retire and we never get another interview from them lol. Nick did seem a bit more coherent and into the interview today though, maybe hes making an effort to "play the game" a bit more. Lets get GSP-Diaz done DFW!
