Good comparison.....If I'm comparing for this season, I'm going to take JR Smith....He really had a breakout year in Denver this season after struggling to get PT and having a rough time with the Hornets last year...They definately have similar games, but Smith was more productive...They can both shoot (although I'd take JR shooting wise), and they are obviously athletic and good slashers as well....But like I said before, Smith was more productive and more of a scorer (both are below average defenders), and they ended up getting similar minutes this year. But for the future, I'm taking Gerald. This was only Gerald's 2nd year, and I think he can become a really great all around scorer whereas Smith will be a good player, but never a truly high calibre scorer...I think Gerald will develop a more all around scoring game too.
im taking gerald... in my nba live 07 dynasty I traded smith for gerald but they are pretty much the same... only difference I notice is that gerald is more consistent from the perimeter but doesn't shoot as much as smith and I dont really like smith be cause of the brawl with new york

I take Green. they're similiar players, but I think Smith's attitude sets them apart. I'm not sure Smith is as coachable as Green is, because hes had alot of problems in the past. Green clearly has more potential although, Smith is still very young. I see Green being a better scorer, and better all around player than Smith. Gerald will be an important part of the C's future..

Both Green and Smith are inconsistent, so that should basically cancel out. Both are athletic freaks, but J.R. Smith is clearly ahead of Gerald right now. Gerald Green clearly has more potential, however, and he has progressed faster than anybody expected. Only time will tell, but if I were starting a franchise today and I had to choose between J.R. and Gerald, I'd go with Gerald. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (kingjamez @ Apr 23 2007, 09:34 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Gerald will be an important part of the C's future..</div> We'll see what happens this summer. Don't bank on him being a Celtic. If we end up with Kevin Durant (knock on wood), Green is gone. Even if we don't, he could very well be packaged for a good veteran. We'll see.
I'll go with a healthy JR; earlier this season he was playing like a different JR, averaging like 17 ppg or something, before AI came and he got hurt.
