I think both of these young projects are gunna turn into something very special in this league. I'm gunna go with G-Money because of his hieght, athleticism, smooth jumper, and quickness. He's a skilled scorer already. But Martell has an incredible shot for his age, he's big as well, he runs the floor, much better defense than I thought (better defender than Gerald). But this is a good comparison. I think Gerald Green has star potential in this league, and I think Webster does as well. But I'm going with my boy, Gerald Green. You?
I honestly haven't seen much of Martell Webster, so I have to go with Gerald Green. He showed me a lot towards the end of the season. He was a rookie who was playing like a veteran with a whole lot of confidence. He had a much better shot than I had expected. All the T-Mac comparisons really were surprising to me when he was in high school, but after watching this kid play for real, he definitely is going to be a star in this league.
I really don't think Martell Webster will be anything special and I thought he was a big reach in the draft. Gerald Green is a much better athlete and has all the same skills.

They are equally poor on the defensive end, but Gerald has the potential to score 23-25 ppg. i can't see Martell ever averaging 20+. I'm glad Portland messed up.
Even though the guys have a common SG position, the 2 have totally different playing styles. Webster likes to shoot the ball a lot while Green likes to attack the rim. So it's hard to make a comparison.
Their both first year players out of high school. We have no idea because usually it takes a pretty long time for these guys to develop. I will go with Gerald though. He is really athletic. He might have some star power in him if he could learn some defense and develop a steady jumper. Please stop the comparisons with TMac though.
Why? He has a simalar game. Every great athletic 6'8" SG prospect gets compared to him, remember Qyntel Woods?

The games are similar, but when ppl see the comparison, they think he'll be as good as TMac. I know he won't.
Yeah bingo. People take "comparisons" overboard. They see someone COMPARED to a star. That does not neccessarily mean they will be as good as them. It means their games are similar. Will Gerald become as good as T-Mac? Who knows, but most likely probably not. But I do think this kid has star potential, no question. So does Martell.
