Although it's highly unlikely that the Hornets will want to spend big money on a free agent, a guy like Gerald Wallace would be a nice fit with the team, IMO. His incredible defense would match perfectly with our other post players, and he's good enough to contain opposing SFs. The difficulty would be finding the money for Wallace, with CP3 expected to be a FA in 2009, GM Jeff Bower will want to save money to extend Paul's contract after next season. The Bobcats have a lot more cap room to re-sign Gerald, so he could be staying where her is. Does anyone else feel that he would improve our team greatly? His offensive game has gotten better each year he plays, and he'll only turn 25 this July after playing six seasons.

I think Wallace would be a great addition in New Orleans. Having an offense-defense duo on the wing with Peja/Wallace would be great balance and they'd compliment each other nicely on the offensive end, as Peja is the shooter while Wallace is an average shooter who likes to be used as a slasher.

You guys already have Desmond Mason. The only difference is that Wallace is a better defender by far. Regardless though, you don't need him. Besides Mason, you already have a swingman in Peja. I don't see a need for him, although I'm not a Hornet fan.

Mason is kind of the same as Wallace, but Wallace has much better defense and he's better threat down-low than Mase is. Plus, Gerald can probably hit more perimeter shots than people think. The frontcourt would just be perfect for us...PG PaulSG StojakovicSF WallacePF WestC Chandler

Gerald Wallace would give us a much needed perimeter defender, but I have doubts about his offense and how he would fit in. If he does come here, he'd have to be a two (hopefully Scott wouldn't keep Peja down there), something he has played before but is definitely not his true position and isn't where he can maximize his defensive skills. Getting him is all fine and dandy, but they shouldn't do it unless they address the 2 guard need in the draft.

Scott wouldn't put Peja at the 3, would he?? If Wallace comes here he has to play the 3, even if his offensive game isn't the best. Which ever rookie we select can spell Peja until he outperforms him and wins the job. It all depends on which way the Hornets want to go in the draft, if they want Thaddeus Young they're not going to sign Wallace... If they take Nick Young, they would probably go after Wallace so that the 3 is taken by a good veteran.
