If you haven't yet, go do it today. I took care of the kids, but never got around to it myself. Now my throat feels like I swallowed hot gravel. Wife and I have been half comatose for the past three days. This crap is no fun.

Meanwhile the boys are happy as can be (and winning more battles of wills than we like, but neither of us have the energy to fight them off).

I'll just deal with the flu for a week if i am so unlucky

Do you even know what a vaccine is or how they work? Polio is now making a come back because of naive thinking like this.

You do know each year there is a new flu vaccine, right? They can't do massive long term testing on each year's flu vaccine...

I don't get Flu Shots, dont think they are worth it.... I haven't got sick in years. Not that I care, but did you guys read about some people that had some crazy adverse reactions to the vaccine? Crazy shit.

BTW, comparing Polio and Swine Flu in regards to must-get vaccinations is apples and oranges....big time.

I didn't compare them. Let me clear up my original post, misinformation over vaccines in general is causing an unnecessary fear that is resulting in some people avoiding getting vaccinated for anything. I used the increase in Polio as an example.

ive never had a flu shot...not gonna start now

and this vaccine I would think is vastly different then the "normal" flu shot the come up with...hence why there was hysteria over the vaccine...that and a shitload had to be made

I need to get more informed on these kind of shots, because I feel the way Darizzle does. Don't get flu shots and have heard stories of adverse reactions.

I also know mothers who are concerned with all the vaccines doctors give babies and some are convinced it increases the risk of autism.

Again I admit not knowing much about vaccines . . . but I have heard enough stories from people I find credible to have teh same mentality as Darizzle (we are talking vaccines not favorite basketball teams)

I've never gotten a flu shot. I get the sniffles maybe twice a year, at most.

I was in Morocco this summer and I think I got Swine Flu. I can't be sure, but it sure seemed like it.

flu shots seem to help me. I get sick once a year usually, but if I get a flu shot, I either don't or its less severe. No flu shot this year = I was sick for like a month.

I didn't get the flu shot OR the H1N1 shot.

It's not a particularly lethal virus, based on what I've read. If I get sick, I get sick. My body is (relatively) young and strong and I'll take care of myself if I get ill.

I had a docter friend tell me to never get a flu shot. Never have, never will.

Flu shots are way different than MMR and other vaccines. Flu shots, are pointless IMO. Serious vaccines are just that, serious! Autism increased numbers might be manmade but they are not likely to be from the vaccine. People also clump aspergers in with autism, and many other "my kid is just awkward" things. They just want someone else to blame for their problems.

Vaccines do not increase the risk of autism. No proper studies have shown a correlation. Jenny McCarthy is a raving retard.

Except that you may spread that same flu to somebody else who isn't as young and strong. Vaccines are far more effective if a population builds a critical mass of vaccinated people.

Even if you don't care if you get sick, consider that you may inadvertently infect a newborn nephew or great grandma during your own infection.

The wife, the boy and I all got the flu shot and the H1N1. As Mook said, it's not so much about you getting sick but not spreading it to people who are less able to fight the illness.

That being said, when you have kids, you get sick all the freaking time. Those li'l bastards are like walking petri dishes.
