On the ESPN show Around the Horn yesterday, they had a topic.. "Are the Cavs now the class of the East?" One of the panelists Michael Smith said "No they aren't and that you have to watch out for the sleeper team in the Southeast, the Orlando Magic" He said that most teams in the East have a question mark with their bigs, but not the Magic, because Dwight is the real deal. He said he also liked the chemistry between Jameer, Dwight and Darko, and Grant Hill was finally healthy. Host Tony Reali and the other panelists were like "REALLY?" in shock that he mentioned us. He said that we are only half a game behind the Cavs(1 game in the loss column) So do you think he's getting a little ahead of himself picking us as potentially the class of the East THIS YEAR? Or do you think we could possibly be the class of the East? Regardless, it's good to see people starting to take note of our terrific start.
Well Smith is right. Think about what bigs are left in the East? Shaq is out for 4-6 weeks, he is on the decline anyways. Z isnt exactly putting up huge numbers either. Pistons lost Wallace and that hurts them in their rotation. Chicago is just to small at their bigs and new jersey really doesnt have one. Give the Magic the advantage there and then think about the talent that is around him and I see the Magic doing very well in the East. As long as our bench can be reliable and our starters stay healthy we have to be mentioned in the top 5 in the east right now.
put Carlos Arroyo at the starting PG, and youre gonna see the diference. hes the guy that put the ball more on D-howard hands. and produce more than anybody in less minutes.

He is the starter. Arroyo has produced well off the bench and he likes that role. He knows that he is the key to making our bench successful. He excels in that role and doesn't complain, so why change what is working?
Why mess with a good thing... We cant complain with a 6-3 start. Think about we are 6-3 and Jameer isnt playing his best ball... I think bringing in Carlos of the bench is perfect, pairing him with Dooling is instant offense. I think we can keep up with the best teams because of those two guys coming off our bench. Jameer will pick it up, he is a born leader and has shown that he can lead this team. We havent even played 10 games yet, we have to be patient.
I think the problem is that Jameer is a sg in a body of a pg. this is a team whit a lot of potential and in this team you need to move the ball well to be sucessfull, guys like hedo, hill and d-howard have to have the ball to be more productive.the problem that jameer have is shoot too much, dribbles a lot and guys are more taller than him in his potition and shoot over him. he can be in my opinion a good 6 man than a starter, he can be like a ben gordon a x-factor coming of the bench,he gonna be playing whit less pressure and scoring more whit less shots.
well with shaq missing a large part of the season due to his knees i see ourselves winning the southeast, and if we do that guarantees us a top 3 spot in the east, which is amazing for a team that finished 10th last season

There are plenty of people who are not big Jameer fans (GatorsOwnTheNCAA) who would and have agreed with me.
my bad,(thegreat k-bob )i dont wanna hurt anybodys feelings but for me is capable to be a starter thats not the problem, because Arroyo and Dooling have their problems too,the fact of the matter is for me he can be more controlated and more productive coming from the bench.
Oh, you didn't call me out, I understand the arguement. However, in most cases your best 5 players start, with a few exceptions. Jameer is the secd best player on this team IMO, maybe not scorer or rebounder or whatever, but player, and I think Arroyo does very well off the bench, actually.
YEAH, I understant what you saying, but the best case to explain is the case of chicago bulls, maybe chicago best player is Ben Gordon,is the 6 man, thats crazy, but work well for the team, the guy that start for him is cris duhon, hes not better than Gordon never even in his wildest dreams, i think here their PG battle are more closed, but Jameer is the best player of the three, but maybe maybe you have the same case as chicago.
Right now, Arroyo is playing great off the bench and I think that role is perfectly suited for him. When our second unit comes in against another team's first unit, there isn't much of a drop off and our second unit often puts up points. This is because the opposing team's first unit is usually tired and Arroyo is always looking to run and push the ball up court. Carlos is great at running the transition game and always has our players running whenever they can. Having a second unit that can push the ball and run effectively really helps us because that tires the first unit even more. This forces the opposing coach to put his backups in and since the Magic are one of the deepest teams in the NBA, another team's second unit can't slow us down. Without Arroyo, this strategy work as well so until Jameer sustains some type of injury, I say we keep him in the starting lineup and keep letting Carlos anchor the second unit. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
