<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The raptors are infatuated witm Mutombo. In fact, they are offering to send Antonio Davis($12M,$12M,$13M, plus a 15% trade kicker) to the Blazers as part of compensation. Rasheed Wallace would end up in New Jersey and Kenyon Martin would end up in Portland."</div> According to the New York Post. Mutombo is 37 years old and has 2 years remaining on his contract($18M,$19M). Mutombo's contract adds up to $37M over 2 seasons. Davis's adds up to $37M as well, but over 3 seasons. I feel that Mutombo is washed up and would rather have Davis for an extra year. Mutombo definetly provides much more of a defensive prescense, but has no offensive.
Raptors would only do this for cap space....Either that or they want to get another high pick....Blazers get Martin and Davis..while Nets get Sheed...while all Raptors get is Mutombo? doesn't make sense..but I wouldn't believe this if I was you...The NY post isn't exactly a good paper for basketball trade deals...It is normally all false statements..
its occording to the new york ost so i wouldent read to much in to it until i see it in espn's bottom line
That would top off a fairly disappointing off-season. Keep Ad or trade him for someone who can still play!
