"When Giants safety Antrel Rolle called out his teammates last week, he hoped they would respond with passion and fire. He wanted to see their intensity. He wanted to see them fight. But this couldn't possibly have been what he had in mind. On a day the Giants were convinced they played well enough to win, they came so unglued they couldn't possibly do anything but lose. They gave an uninspired, 11-penalty performance that included a hard-to-believe six personal fouls, and they threw in three turnovers for good measure. It all added up to a 29-10 loss at the Meadowlands to a Tennessee Titans team the Giants believe they beat in every way - except, of course, in the only way that really counts. "I saw fire all day. I saw passion all day. I saw guys out there wanting to win for each other all day," said Rolle, who had called out his teammates for a lack of all that early last week. "Our game was good. But turnovers and penalties definitely hurt us." "If you watch the tape without the penalties," added defensive end Justin Tuck, "you'll say we were up 35-0 or something like that." However, unless you close your eyes and turn down the sound, there's no avoiding all the penalties and the way the Giants kept finding new ways to self-destruct. That included a game-changing chop block in the end zone by running back Ahmad Bradshaw - one of the six personal fouls - which resulted in a safety and gave the Titans the ball back, leading to another touchdown drive." http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...nd_penalties_in_2910_loss_to_tennessee_t.html
