Giants might have too many draft picks

GM Jerry Reese hinted that his team might not keep all of the 10 draft picks it currently possesses. And when you consider that the team is likely to get at least one more compensatory pick (they are announced at the end of March typically) for losing LB Kawika Mitchell and S Gibril Wilson last year, it makes the idea of the Giants trading one or more of those picks more likely. With a veteran-laden roster on a team that has expectations of nothing short of a Super Bowl, there might not be a ton of space for first-year players. There are several options — most likely, the Giants would trade one or more picks for a veteran wide receiver or would trade up in or out of this year’s draft (for future picks), perhaps using their own second-rounder (No. 45) or the extra second they’ll receive from the Saints (No. 60, as part of the Jeremy Shockey trade) as their prime bargaining chips. Among the names of receivers who have been connected to the Giants are the Cardinals’ Anquan Boldin and the Browns’ Braylon Edwards.

I really think we'll be making a trade on draft day either to move up, acquire an established player, or acquire more picks in later drafts.
