Giants surge back to finish sweep of Astros

A steady succession of offense, featuring two RBIs apiece from Pablo Sandoval and Hunter Pence, enabled the Giants to record their largest comeback of the season in Thursday night's 8-4 triumph over the Houston Astros.

The Giants, who have won 10 of their last 13 games, completed a three-game sweep of the Astros despite trailing 4-0 through three innings. Three-run uprisings in the fifth and seventh innings boosted the Giants and sent Houston to its fifth consecutive loss.

With Gregor Blanco on first and one out in the fifth, pitcher Ryan Vogelsong furthered the Giants' rally by faking a bunt, pulling back his bat and singling past shortstop. The next three batters drove in runs: Angel Pagan doubled, Marco Scutaro grounded an infield single and Sandoval smashed a sacrifice fly.
