Gibbs and Walcott will both start for England against France on Wednesday.

Jack Wilshere will miss the friendly because of an injury. Wilshere was strongly tipped to earn this first England start.

Andy Carroll has also been given the green light for his England debut.

I'd like to add this astonishing statistic: Arsenal have SIXTEEN players on international duty this week. That is incredible.

So Gibbs isn't fit enough to play for Arsenal, but is fit enough to start for England.
