Giddens is charged with battery against Jeremiah Creswell, stemming from a May 19 incident outside of the Moon Bar, a now-closed bar at 9th and Iowa streets. Giddens did not appear at the hearing, but his lawyer, Deborah Vermelion, entered a plea on his behalf. Judge Peggy Kittel accepted the plea and assigned the case to Judge Stephen Six. Giddens' next court appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Oct. 25.
