The collaboration produced contrasting leadership styles. Scottie Pippen is planning to ease into the role and get to know his new teammates before exerting much influence. Six-foot-5 guard Kendall Gill, meanwhile, didn't hesitate to give advice. He quickly struck up a conversation with Tyson Chandler during postpractice free-throw shooting. "I actually talked to Tyson and Eddy Curry today about raising their skill level," said Gill, a free agent who played in Minnesota last year. "Tyson said he needs somebody to show him what to do. I said, 'Well, I'd be happy to do it.' "I played with a carbon copy of Tyson, but with a higher skill level - Kevin Garnett. I told Tyson, 'Hey, you can be the same player. All you have to do is work.' And I showed him what Kevin did every day. I said, 'You can be the same player if you want to be.' "There's no feeling out for me," Gill added. "I've been around too long and seen everything. Either you tow your own weight or you're going to get an earful from the veterans that have been around for awhile." </div> If that's not motivation, I dunno what is.
That's one thing I don't really like about Chandler. He doesn't want to do anything himself really. He always needs motivation. Like during the season he would step up his game only after he learned what Amare did the previous game. Now he says he needs someone to motivate him to step up his skill level. Sometimes people just have to do things themselves.
Chandler is lazy a lot, does not want to play hard every time he is out there. I agree sunsfan, maybe he can work on that, but if you can't be motivated to play in the NBA, you have problems.

Earlier in the season, he'd have great games whenever he was motivated. Too bad that only happened about two times.
if Gill needs to tell Chandler that he can be like KG before every game so that he'll always be motivated...i'd appreciate it...
Chandler and Kg I dont think is accurate. I dont think that Chandler will be as good a rebounder, defense, scoring, and handling. So I dont see a great comparison except frame.
Chandler is nothing like Garnett (not to take anything away from Tyson.) He doesn't have the soft hand and ball handling skills like Garnett. Tyson will never get 6 assist per game. Though Tyson will probably get more rebounds and blocks. He won't be the scoring threat like KG. I love tyson though, so don't get me wrong.
Have you played with tyson? Im sure a guy who only watches him knows less than a guy who plays with him. Im not sayin he does play like KG, but im sure Gill knows more about his skills than we do.
are you talking to me? I have eyes just like Gill, of course I don't see practice. But I do see the games, and Tyson is nothing like KG...

I dont think he plays like him, but still, he knows more about tyson.
Of course hes gunna say Chandler could be the next KG (speaking to 50Trice)... Gill is his teammate and is gunna say anything to motivate a youngin who has no displine, ... Chandler might be a good player in the league, a top 10 player maybe, but KG is a top 3 player, and Chandler will never be that, no I dont play with him, but you can see that Chandler doesnt have the skills of a KG... period.

They are both black. They are both 7'0" They both play basketball. They both have skinny frames. They both came straight out of HS. Thats where the comparisons stop. Garnett is a much better natural scorer, rebounder, one on one defender, passer, and overall, he's much better. Chandler is going to develop into more of a rebounding/defense force, in a Ben Wallace mold(as in lower ppg, but higher rpg/bpg......not saying he is the next Ben Wallace......but Chandler will have more offense than Wallace).

Chandler even said that he wants to be in the top 5 in rebounding and blocks. never said anything about offense...
yeah, motivation for garnett, comparing him and chandler is an insult to garnett's game...KG has motivation to play even better because someone in the NBA (gill) comapred him to TYSON CHANDLER!
