Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team admitted it cannot indict President Trump, Rudy Giuliani said Wednesday.

“All they get to do is write a report. They can’t indict. At least they acknowledged that to us after some battling, they acknowledged that to us,” the president’s lawyer and former federal prosecutor told CNN.

Giuliani cited Nixon-era Department of Justice guidelines that prevent special investigators from indicting sitting presidents.

“The Justice Department memos going back to before Nixon say that you cannot indict a sitting president, you have to impeach him. Now there was a little time in which there was some dispute about that, but they acknowledged to us orally that they understand that they can’t violate the Justice Department rules,” said Giuliani.

    Ken Starr didn't indict either.

    They impeached instead.

“All they get to do is write a report." What a crock.

He's trying to spin a technicality as a win, and that it shows he's free of any wrong doing or knowledge of wrong doing.

Or if you're a fox news viewer, "it's a witch hunt"

It's cool to see him writing unintentional self-owns for two years in the future still.

It would be so nice if the President of the United States actually, you know, acted like one.

Giuliani said so. Mueller didn't say so.

Yes "witch hunt" is commonly use to describe, seek evidence of wrong doing. So is fishing expedition. So your preference has to do with Fox new?

Saying the president can't be indicted is a bit like saying "you'll never catch me, coppers!"

It's not exactly a declaration of innocence.

It's an admission by Mueller that he's overstepped his authority and wasted over $10,000,000 in a blatant politically-motivated smear of the POTUS.

Treason, some would say. A coup attempt, or cover for a past coup.

No one knows what Mueller has found, if anything. So how would you know if he overstepped his authority? And what exactly, is treasonous about this investigation? Did you think Ken Starr was treasonous?

And given that he's a Republican, appointed by a Republican, I also fail to see how his investigation can be said to be politically motivated. But, that said, one person in this mess is indeed politically motivated to say what he is saying.

But it sure ain't the ex-Marine, ex-head of the FBI, Republican, Silent Sam Robert Mueller.

What's funny is that part of Mueller's mandate could be to investigate the FBI and/or Clinton's campaign. Russia, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, all could have aided Hillary too. Seeing Trump and his fanboys jump to conclusions about the investigation and try to shut it down is very telling.

They sure weren't crying foul when Comey threw the election to Trump.
