The 6-foot-8 Rice had been in the final season of a contract worth $9 million, averaged 9.0 points and 2.5 rebounds in 62 games for Houston last season and apparently, the Spurs called him to explore a possible signing that would have brought him to San Antonio. Reports indicate, however, that Rice wanted a larger role than Gregg Popovich was willing to guarantee. </div> I guess he wants playing time more than a shot at a ring.
Yeah, he allready has his title..smart move IMO. He has lived in Los Angeles before, and will have a bigger role with a young team on the rise. He also gets his money.
