As we all know Glenn Robinson is coming off a career low in points. During his time with the Bucks he?s been a 20+ point scorer and has been a 20+ point scorer over the course of his career. However, Robinson is aging and obviously on the decline, not to mention he?s also getting more vulnerable to injury every season and to top that off he has very poor work ethic. So it?s unlikely that he has another 20 PPG season left in him. Even though there has been word of shipping him to another team, as of now it seems as if he?s going to be back in a Sixers uniform next season for at least one more season.

Well unlike Derrick Coleman, Glenn Robinson could still provide the Sixers with something. Even though he?s a fossil, he gets the job done offensively. (Which something that we lack) He has a consistent mid-range game and actually has one of the best perimeter games in the league despite his lack of defense. Robinson has made it clear that he?s determined to make the All-Star team next season. Now some may think he?s blowing things out of proportion and his comments might be a bunch of nonsense, but I think it?s possible.

We all know that he doesn?t provide much on the defensive end, however if he can put a body on whom ever he is defending it could quite possible affect whom ever he is defending. Maybe his ?presence? will throw the player off or have that player re-adjust his shot or whatever, but it should do something, but he?s really aging and really lacks mobility so I doubt this will be the case.

As for the scoring, with Allen Iverson running the point and claiming that he?s a change man and will take on the leadership role. Let?s say Iverson supposedly takes fewer shots per game, his scoring average may go down but his assists numbers should go up. So I don?t see why Glenn Robinson can?t have at least one more 20 PPG season. After all Robinson was one of the reasons why Iverson assist numbers went up last season, aside from his injury plagued season Robinson knocking down some of those perimeter shots.

But as far as it goes for next season, I honestly don?t see him having much of an impact this upcoming season. Maybe he might be shipped to another team before the trade-deadline where his trade value would probably go up. But whatever the case may be we?re really going to need him, seeing as that we don?t really have much consistent jump-shooter on the team which is really needed especially under Coach O?Brien new style of offense, but we?re definitely going to need him.

Glenn Robinson can still shoot he still has a solid J and is probally are most consistant shooter, even though he wasnt a 20+ scorer last year he still gave us about 15 PPG.

I dont think AI's shots go down but Glenn Rob still has a chance to get his shots up,he doesnt do anything for us on the defensive end but I think we can live with him maybe he will play better since this is his contract year and we can trade him while he is still valuable.

    1.3 APG
    44 FG%

You have differeing points of view in one thread. First you praise him, then you put him down, it's weird. You think he'll make the All-Star team, and then you say that he won't have much of an impact. For him to make the All-Star team he will need to have an impact in the regular season because he won't go to the game by popular demand, but by coaches choice.

I definitly agree with alot of points made in your post. First off let me start by saying that Glenn Robinosn is definitly on the decline of his career at this point do to injuries and age taking there toll on him. He said before in an interview he expects to be an all star this year imo that is a very long shot.

I do not see him finishing the year with the sixers unless they are looking for cap releave do to his contract being in its last year. He will most likely be kept from trading this summer to raise his trade value if anything. He will probable be traded before the deadline by the sixers, but not this off season.

A reason I believe this is because like you stated in your post he is on the decline of his career although he is a scorer his lack of defensive ability will prove his down fall. Do to the fact the sixers will return to a fast break offensive game this year his inability to force turnovers will cause a temporary set back in the teams offensive plans.

He will also not be able to keep up with the speed of the game since they will be running a fast break offensive game. He will not be able to hustle up and down the court for over 32 minutes let alone play the full 48 any more. He is to much of a one dementional player who can hit the mid range shot and all of that, but was aquired by the sixers from the hawks to be more of a player who uses his post up ability though do to the injuries he has cut back on doing that.

He will also be traded by the deadline I believe because do to the depth at that position he has become expendable JO already said he likes korver and korver plays the swing man spot same as Robinson added with players like Salmons and Iggy minutes at the small forward spot will be hard to come by unless someone is traded. Since all the others are still yet to hit there prime while robinson is past his it will imo be him. I believe they will trade him for another big man to help at the 5 spot until dalembert is fully capable of being a second scoring option.

    Glenn Robinson's numbers next year
    PPG 17
    RPG 5
    APG 4
    FG 47%
    FT 80%
    Steals per game .85

Yeah, that?s true but throughout the post I?m just assuming on different scenarios that I think would likely happen. I understand what I saying, next time I?ll try to make things more comprehendible.
