<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Knicks are going to get a Robinson, one way or another. They opted against former Bulls forward Eddie Robinson, after it was revealed that Robinson would need surgery to repair a big toe injury. Now, the Knicks are eye-balling Glenn Robinson, who, it appears, will not play another game for the Sixers. The Knicks have made a trade offer Nazr Mohammed and others) but also are hoping the Sixers will buy out the $12 million final year of his contract so they could get him for $1.3 million. The Knicks are also in the bidding to acquire the Bulls' Eddy Curry. The Bulls said they would take Michael Sweetney for him, but not Mohammed.</div> Link The Knicks have apparently made an offer for Robinson that included Mohammed and others. If Nazr's in the deal then we have to get another one in the deal. If we can get Curry and Robinson without giving up Sweetney, that will be MAJOR for us. The Knicks get some shooting relief, we send the hated Thomas out of here or to the bench and it is an excellent roster. The only thing that is really not going to be so good is giving up Kurt Thomas. He will most likely have to be in a deal to get Curry. There is no way we can snag two great players for some of our stiffs.
Neither Curry or Robinson are great players. Robinson has become average and Curry could be great but..... Anyway I dont like this trade.Trading away our starting center fo yet another small forward who doesnt play defense? I don't see how this would help us.
Curry might be one of those highschool dissapointments but, he is an improvement from Nazr Mohammed. The way TT has been playing as of late it will be very valuable for a scoring threat at the 3. The Knicks lack of shooting has really been hurting them. With Houston down and his jumpshot being in question now, we can use shooting. And even if H2O comes back healthy that's only going to make us better with two great shooters. Imagine a possible lineup of PG: Stephon Marbury SG: Allan Houston SF: Glenn Robinson PF: Kurt Thomas (If he isn't in any package) C: Eddy Curry This lineup will be especially valuable in the playoffs. H2O and Houston can provide some leadership and some experience. While the other youngsters can learn from their first playoff experience. As I said before if we can get these players without giving up too much value is going to be big for us and an improvement over our current lineup. I also heard that we can also get Antonio Davis in the deal which will make this possible trade even more valuable.
Hmm... Not quite sure what to think. Not having Houston's jumpshot is temporary so we dont need Robinson's jumpshot too badly. On the other hand having two shooters will be nice to have. I wouldnt mind signing Robinson if he was bought out by Philly. As for trading Nazr for him...I think we have enough swingmen but I wouldnt mind losing Nazr and starting Kurt at center instead. I don't know about Curry either. I'd love to have him but there's something wrong with trading your best low post defender and arguably the best rebounder for a terminal underacheiver who as soon as he gets a nice hefty contract will become fat and lazy. So maybe we should just forget about that big sloppy chump they call Curry.
If we get Antonio Davis it will be more of insurance for Kurt's loss. This guy is a solid PF that can really help us.
