ok so here is a rather quick recap.

    amateur

    tim thomas vs adam mcquad

170 # mcquad severely overmatched thomas and pounded him on the ground for a minute and a half.

    pro fights

170# roberto conception vs joe kavey

kavey was docile, very overmatched by the smaller conception. basically let him have his way with him. ground and pound for the win.

135# todd selva vs christian rivera

selva was very very quick and out of control throwing rediculous punches, rivera withstood these easily and fell on top of him for a quick guillitine choke.

205# ben hudson vs matt narey

narey took a punch to the side of the head and countered with a left side kick and right hook combo that sent hudson down in the first 15 seconds. very impressive. the official was good to stop this fight as narey had pounced on him and was about to end his life on the ground.

175# brent bergeron vs sirus clark

sirus was one of my favorite fighters of the night, very lucid, never in a hurry. maybe it was just the justuposition of bergerons frenetic fighting style, but it was nice to finally see some techniche. sirus submitted bergeron with a rear naked choke at 1:30 of the first round.

145# eddie felix vs bill jones

me and my light board operator had a little bet on this one. he took felix, and i must say, felix was a physical marvel. not an ounce of fat and a huge upper body, he looked twice the size of bill jones. then i noticed felixs legs. they were so skinny, he looked like big bird, no joke. i also heard him arguing with someone on the phone, so i guessed his head wasnt into it. they went to the ground immediately, and felix had ZERO stamina, i could tell he was beat after 45 seconds or so, he lasted another minute and jones won by submission with a rear naked choke.

165# ralph johnson vs josh hersy

johnson was much taller maybe 6 inches, and very enerjetic in pre fight, looked good. when they started fighting, it was just a mess of swinging arms and no techniche from johnson. hersey slipped forwards and ended up down around johnsons knees where johnson landed a few quick blows to his head when the ref stopped the fight. hersey was so shocked he didnt stop fighting and actuallywas in a full mount on johnson within 2 seconds. the ref blew this one, as he was still able to protect himself and would have most likely won imo. the crowd started throwing bottles and chanting "BULLSHIT", a few fans got arrested, and general unrest was felt in the room for 10 minutes or so.

135# josh spearman vs nik patnaude

nik outwieghed him by a good 10 lbs and it looked like spearman was wrestling his older brother, really no chance, rear guillitine choke a minute in.

135# ethan kean vs trevor stone

ethan kean was very unique, had amazing flexibility, an interesting open stance, and about a 6 inch reach advantage. he was able to use a crazy rubber gaurd for most of the fight, and it went 3 rounds to the judges. was evident that his stamina wasnt up to par where imo he lost rounds 2 and 3 after winning round 1 handily, but i dont take anything away from trevor stone, he was calm and fought his fight and won.

175# scott nichols vs chris "the ego" fisette

the first nickname of the night! and he deserved it for sure, flexing and grabbing the mike from the announcer, it reminded me of wwf for sure. it seemed like half the crowd was there just to see him. scott nichols was a little taller, and a little thinner, but i got a sense of quiet anger in him, and i was right. nichols was amazing, VERY technical, having his way with him on the ground, and killing him standing up. the ego had no chance from the first bell, and it made me VEY happy to see "the ego" get his ass handed to him with 3 rounds of domination. to his credit, he didnt get submitted or knocked out.

after the fight, scott nichols actually helped load out the show, he worked for the guy that owned the ring. cool guy.

    and the main event

170# mike littlefield vs dennis olson

huge letdown after the previous fight, olson came right in at the start, dragged littlefield down and got him in a guillitine 20 seconds in. lame.

first fight i have seen in person, and i think it made a fan out of me, im looking forward to catching another fight as soon as i can.

Thanks so much for the recap. Good to see small shows bringing up young fighters.

And here I thought the only good thing to come out of Concord was Matt Bonner!
