New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter needed a cortisone shot in his inflamed left ankle, setting back his rehab and casting further doubt on his ability to be ready for Opening Day. In fact, general manager Brian Cashman acknowledged the possibility that Jeter, who broke the ankle in October in the American League Championship Series and needed surgery to help mend it, could begin the season on the disabled list.
