General manager Martin Mayhew stayed true to what has been the team's mantra throughout the early part of training camp. "I'm going to let last season be last season and this season be this season" he said Tuesday morning his first public comments since after the draft. "We've moved forward. "We learned a lot from last year and we're going to take those lessons into this season and have a more successful season." He did acknowledge there was an urgency about things after the 4-12 falloff last season. "This is the NFL — the urgency is there every single year" he said. "You talk about hot seats; there are 32 hot seats for every general manager every head coach. There's an expectation in this league of perfection. People aren't perfect. There's a high expectation a high urgency level." When asked if his and coach Jim Schwartz's seats were perhaps a little warmer than some others after the 4-12 Mayhew said "The heat on the seat varies from week to week. A lot of seats are cool right now that could be hot come January. We'll see what happens. "I am certainly going to work as hard as I can to keep my seat cool." Linebacker Stephen Tulloch and other players have talked about the deterioration of the team's chemistry last season.
