I've been promoted a few times at my company, the last promotion was into a job that requires a masters degree but they re-wrote the job description for me to make it possible for me to take it. I was told at a minimum I have to go back to school to get my bachelor's degree. Anyone have a good recommendation on a school that is relatively inexpensive, mostly online and gives some credit for life/work experience? Thanks, Your pal Hank
Good luck! To get credit for experience you need to get a grant probably, publish a book on the subject or do a thesis...in the end, you'll need to document that experience...you can get required course online at Universityof Phoenix or any number of schools..3 of my coworkers got online degrees for about 10k a school year. Might have to travel to Seattle to take tests at the end of semesters depending upon your field of interest.
Doesn't work for Bachelor's but my wife is taking courses at Fielding Graduate University for a PhD. It is a distance learning program that requires some occasional travel. She really enjoys it, but not sure if it works for you. You do get a Masters, but I think it is designed for a PhD in one of their 3 schools (Psychology, Human and Organizational Development, and Educational Leadership & Change). Most professionals I think go into the HOD program, which is pretty interdisciplinary. Also, they love dwarves!
