Hopefully. At least we don't have to worry about Jermaine O'neil. The Warriors can win this game, but they have to play smart, be active on the glass, and stop settling for the three ball and leaving points at the line. They've also got to play defense. And what's the deal with Ike Diogu? Get that guy in the game so we're not forced to go all perimeter. We suck as a jump shooting team. All this long jumper stuff does is fuel the offense for the other guy pushing against a weak transition team that is soft inside. Also, I hope the W's can learn to push the ball in transition once they secure that rebound. Then the W's need to learn a few things about floor spacing. If they can't space the floor correctly, the dribble-drive/perimeter shooting/fastbreak type of game is going to suck even more. The Warriors need some inside/outside balance here and a solid starting 5 that can be somewhat independent of Baron Davis' ability to create with the ball and is very active on defense.

Nice thread tgr_tony, and welcome. Also, nice points custodian. I agree that Diogu needs more playing time but hes always going to struggle if Monty only uses him as a defense-only big man. An offensive post player like Diogu needs time and opportunities to get into a groove, it would probably help alot of our bench players if Monty had more of a set rotation. If they can get him going on offense, he'll be much more of a presence on both sides of the ball.

Why is Dunleavy listed as a starting PF?

Murphy is out and Monty apparently thinks we are better off with Dun at PF than Ike.

On defense the Warriors need to have superb communication as I believe Indiana will try to set a lot of screens on this team, because I believe that was a strategy of theirs during the last matchup. Last game Stephen Jackson I believe really hurt the Warriors. I am not sure how much better this will be this time around, especially as they have Peja at SF now and Jason still might have back problems and has problems on defense.

On offense, it's hard to predict. The offensive system all together with seems to be very stagnant and inconsistant.

Rebounding must be controlled today. I don't know why Dunleavy is play the 4, that could really hurt the Warriors on the boards tonight; you can't let this team get extra possessions. Like I have said, Dunleavy shouldn't play more minutes at the 4 than Diogu or Biedrins does in the post.

The Warriors can win if they come out and play a solid overall game and can play 4 whole quarters where the offense can consistantly create some good baskets.

Jeff Foster and Pollard play the 4 and 5 spot. Both are getting double digit rebounds in past few games. With no Murphy and Foyle sucking at just about everything I predict Warriors will be out rebounded 50 to -10.

Last three wins for the Pacers have been pretty convincing. I'm a bit worried that the offense is going to sputter against the Pacers, which held the Lakers or was it Pistons to 30% and the Trail Blazers to 24%, which is ridiculous.

I think the Pacers take this one. We'll probably lead but Monty will read his playbook backwards and we end up losing. again.

Monty is really f***ing rediculous, the "starter" Diogu has only played 4 minutes in which hes got 2 points, 2 rebounds, and no fouls and all of the bigs who play are in foul trouble. God its frustrating how he uses no logic at all.

Ike did good against the Pacers last game... To Monty that means, give him as little minutes as possible.

I wonder if Monty really has something against Ike. When Murphy is active he overplays Murphy and thats the excuse for no Ike but now Ike is the only PF on our roster and since he was benched from the starting lineup he hasn't played. It seems like Monty only plays Ike when Ike forces it, during Ike's 27 point game he didnt miss a shot until about his 11th shot, Monty probably really wanted him out. I guess its easier to bench Ike who wont complain than to bench Dun or anyone else. Monty is just horrible.

I'm not sure Ike would solve all of our problems, but damn how many sub 40% shooters we have on our team this season? Fish/Baron/Dunleavy/etc.

Also with Murphy out, there's no excuse for not playing Ike more at PF. Why put in Dunleavy at PF? That's just ridiculous. There's a strong case that Monty has lost his mind...

True. I mean it's all we have for now. It's a single digit ball game with plenty of time, we'll see how this goes...

We need to step up our defense though and I don't think Mike Dunleavy Jr. can guard guys 20 lbs heavier than him at power forward. C'mon take a chance Monty, Dunleavy ain't doing jack with his 10% shooting. Play Diogu, play Zarko, keep feeding Pietrus. He's the only efficient guy on the court.

Zarko isn't playing tonight, he would have a better chance than Dunleavy on those PF's. Dunleavy is known as being a softie, and he gets bumped to PF? Dunleavy needs to learn how to shoot. Pietrus is making a strong case for keeping his starting job.
