Well, he was drafted by the Warriors and traded in the Brandan Wright deal (2nd round, 6th pick, 36th overall). So, essentially they are getting that pick back for free. Plus, he tore it up in the D-League at 16 pts, 10.8 rebounds on 52% FG http://www.nba.com/dleague/playerfile/index.jsp?player=jermareo_davidson He's tall and athletic, so I don't see anything wrong with it at all. Honestly, I think the Warriors are ahead of the game with this NBDL thing. I mean Azibuike, Watson, Morrow, Nelson, now Davidson. Even guys like Matt Barnes bounced around the D-League before joining the Warriors, and now he's a key role-player on the Suns. Honestly, when you look at a draft class, after the few stars who make an impact right away, most (see Anthony Randolph) sit on the bench the majority of the year. Meanwhile, the undrafted players are getting better and showcasing their Pro skills down in the NBDL. I have no problem putting my stock in a guy like Davidson or Azibuike who has proven himself as a star amongst his undrafted/demoted peers in the D-League. I mean, if Azibuike can average 26 points and 5 rebounds in the D League, he can probably play in the NBA, right? Well, we've seen the result. Every one of our D League standouts has been worth it so far.
