In his new role, Golub will work closely with the Trail Blazers, the NFL's Seattle Seahawks and the Seattle Sounders - who will join Major League Soccer in 2009 - to integrate and coordinate the franchises under VSE. "Mike's leadership has been a driving force in the resurgence of the Trail Blazers, and he has been a terrific ambassador in the community," said Tod Leiweke, CEO of Vulcan. "He has been instrumental in our many recent successes and we are excited that we will now be able to utilize his unique talents and experience on behalf of the full Vulcan Sports & Entertainment portfolio." Prior to his tenure with the Trail Blazers, Golub held executive positions with the Memphis Grizzlies and the NHL's New York Rangers and also was the NBA's managing director of events and attractions. "I'm enormously proud of the foundation I've helped build at the Trail Blazers and am eager to be a part of the next chapter of sports in the Northwest."
