As being a Big Darius Miles fan, I hope he does stay in Portland because it's a great team and he is starting to show what he can do. We had a chance to keep him, but we let him go. This one may come back and haunt us.
If DMiles stayed here, he would have been the same DMiles we had. Being in Portland is allowing him to be a star and be an offensive option, something he didn't have here in Cleveland. DMiles is one of my favorite players and seeing him leave hurt, but seeing him playing well makes me happy. Good to see him on Sports Center again. I love the horn call.
^Thats a good point. He was never going to do anything in Cleveland and letting him go was a favor for both sides
When Cleveland picks up McInnis's contract and Miles resigns with the Blazers, you'll have two very happy ball clubs.
The Cavaliers WITH McInnis would be a good fit for Miles. I'm happy with the trade... I love McInnis and how much he has helped this team.
Miles as this teams 6th man would possibly work with McInnis pushing the ball. I'm not after possibles though. Imagine that though, Miles back as a Cavalier. Would make James happy.
here's another interesting article concerning miles: http://www.nypost.com/sports/knicks/16337.htm basically the relevant part here can be summed up in the first paragraph: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">WHILE the shortsighted insist on sermonizing about Isiah Thomas allegedly making one too many trades, fact is, he made one too few. Think he's sorry for not dealing Frank Williams for Darius Miles when the Cavaliers were doing the offering, repeatedly?</div> I for one am very glad that trade never happened and the portland one did... wow
DMiles is allstar material the cavs and the whole NBA will know that soon, i bet half of you guys didnt know he played that season injured until this thread. If my boy DMiles can average 9.5ppg and 5.5rpg injured imagine what he can do when he's healthy.
Not neccessarily add range, but more so become deadeye form 15-18 feet. He lacks the handles to break down his man and spot up for the mid range. He can be successful without the 3 point range, but to go to the next level, his ball control and mid range game must improve.
I'm a big D-Miles fan he's a great kid. Met him in person. I knew he was hurt. He tore it up against the Lakers when he first came over and he messed up his knee and played hurt. I knew he was hurt with the Tendinitis and I wish him best of luck. Miles is developing his jump shot and is getting consistent at it. It'll be great to watch years to come if he stays with Portland. Hopefully he doesnt get to hotheaded thinking that he scored 31 points and is the king of the world and sign a contract with a different team and just blow..

I agree with you on his midrange game he needs to improve he's gonna be a KG type player with a killer cross over.
DMiles can do it all: defend, block, run plays, slash, draw fouls, elevate, get the crowd envolved, he just can't hit a 20 footer or beyond. He can be a KJ type of player, but very undersized to play 4. If he bulks up his quickness would be gone and there goes his game. If I were him, I'd add range because everyone knows he's going to drive the lane.
