Is just.....maybe not something I would (shoot it) do but entirely her fault. Sorry, I wouldn't be scared but I can't blame someone else in that situation.

The dog shouldn't have been out, she is irresponsible.

In the video, it appears it was the lady that ran towards the police officer and slapped him first. The police had every right to stop her attack.

As far as the dog, there was no sound with the video, maybe the dog was growling? Pitbulls are unpredictable, and can turn aggressive in seconds. They have very strong biting jaws, and should not be allowed to run loose. There have been so many attacks made by pitbulls that many cities and towns no longer allow them to be kept as pets.

I love dogs; usually I keep two of them, they are part of the family, like children. But I hate pitbulls and would never own one.

One of my dogs, a sweet lovable black lab was attacked by a pitbull that jumped a tall fence to get loose. I saw the pitbull charging my dog, but did not get there in time. The pitbull took a chuck out of my dog’s butt near where the tail attaches. There was a good size tree branch handy (about the size of a baseball bat) which worked well to hit the pitbull and get it to leave. (Wish I had a gun handy). I hate pitbulls.

The picture below was taken a day after the operation. The tubes you see in the picture were to help drain fluids due to an infection that set in. You can see how large the bite was and how much swelling there was around the bite area, even down part of the tail. My dog survived and is still very friendly with all dogs. But I hate pitbulls.

This pitbull belong to a neighbor, and it often got loose. It had even wondered into my house a couple of times prior to this attack, without causing problems with my dogs. But, you never know when a pitbull is going to get aggressive and attack. The neighbor that owned the pitbull paid for the operation. I found out from him that this was the third time his pitbull had attacked another dog.

Did I mention I hate pitbulls?

Personally I hate pitbulls. They go for the throat and they don't let go. That, by itself, makes them significantly more dangerous than most dogs.

I hate breedists. It's not the breed of the dog it's how it's raised. Lazy owners shouldn't own pits, they need good training.

Dogs still have natural instincts and one of the biggest problems with a pitbull is that it naturally goes for the throat. There's a reason why there are so many pitbulls used for dog fighting, and why cops don't typically use that breed for police dogs. I'm sure there are millions of good pitbulls out there, but the fact that they naturally want to go for the throat is a major problem.

Well, we just started training my psychopath Daschund/Chihuahua mix. We've had her for 2 years and done little training.

The last vet recommended we euthanize her, not kidding.

The difference here is that while she could hurt a small child if I left her alone with one, 95 percent of the population could send her flying with one kick.

Lazy owners do own pits and that is a fact that puts your neighbors at risk. I had a neighbor in a nice residential area that had one who was well trained. The lady sat in the garage with the dog off leash in the driveway. Nothing ever happened to my knowledge but she was still a complete moron for letting it sit there free.

I hate pitbulls to, my moms dog had its leg ripped out of its socket by one. Not sure this ladies dog warranted a death sentence though.

I wouldn't have done it, but think if the cop told the lady to come get it before he had to shoot it and then it got aggressive. If she had been shot then it would have been a disaster.

Yeah I hate little shit dogs like that. I use to walk my dog through the neighborhood and some little shit dog like that use to run up and nip at my ankles. The owner just let it out front with no leash or fence. Then one day my dog got out cause my dumbass roommate left the door cracked, she went right don the street and bit that damn dog. Dogs arent stupid they remember, but because my dog weighs 80lbs my dog has a bounty on her head. Mine got out on an accident, theirs was negligence but because owners think its cute when those little shits bite they dont train them.

The worst dog I've ever met is a half yorkie half Jack Russell Terrier. His name is Chico and he's a little fucking Hitler!! I was petting the dog and being nice to him and he fucking bit me. I've also been bit by a pitbull on my right ring finger. The fingerprint on that finger will never be the same. I have however met plenty of good pitbulls that want nothing but love and give nothing but love. It's the owner it's not the breed.

Was riding my bike through my neighborhood at like 6 or 7 years old when the neighbors German Sheppard ran out of their yard, chased me down, and pulled me off the bike by my arm. Who knows what would have happened if they weren't outside at the time. Don't like German Sheppards to this day. There's a reason Hitler loved that breed... Seriously though I know it was the owners fault. It usually is... One of my biggest pet peeves (OH YEAH) is negligent dog owners.

This story is messed up and I can understand how she is feeling, but I can also understand what the police officer was thinking. She doesn't deserve to have lost her dog because she made the mistake of letting it get out of the apartment.

I own a German Shepherd. The breed goes for the leg or arms, which is why the police use them. If it was a Pitbull, it would have been your neck so you'd be dead.

My German Shepherd was the best dog I ever knew. He was a police dog flunky. Not good enough to make it as a cop but still well trained. He'd just do stupid shit like eat bees out of the air and one time he got a porcupine. He was not happy about that one.

Hey Bro, what do you think about Pitbulls? Hahahahaaa damn, you cracked me up. I get the silly stuff, my Boxer likes to cruse the flowers and eat bees..he knows that he will get stung, but he can not resist. The vet says that their buzzing annoys him and believes that dogs like the taste, go figure.

I love Pitbulls, but I don't have a definite opinion on whether we should continue to breed them or their dangerous mixed breed relatives.

It's kind of a grey area to me. I love animals in general.
