How much cash do we have left from the MLE? Pistons signed Dale Davis $7mill/2years. Did we have that much money left. Im sure he wanted to go to a contender but damn, he could have started here. Am i the only one thinking that only the best teams got better this offseason. I think the whole amensty clause really only helped the better teams. They were able to get good talent for nothing while teams that could have offered them money are left out because they cant win. I think all teams thought they had a chance at some players but the way its looking only the best teams are after finely and the others. Im glad this was a one time deal cuz this offseason has only been about a couple teams.
i agree that the good teams did get better. but a lot of other teams have had a big offseason too. clippers, bobcats, atlanta to name a few. i just think that our management is at home smokin a bowl and thinkin "screw it".
It does seem like the amnesty clause helped out contenders because it each player that was waived wanted to go to a winning team and be the missing piece of the puzzle. Almost all of the contenders are over the cap so they all had MLE's to offer so of course they will draw the big names this offseason. I think our general managers did decent this offseason. It could have been a lot worse. We did a get a good coach in Brian Hill and a good backup point guard in Keyon Dooling. Sure we lost our first round pick but that wasn't entirely our fault. We could have just sat around and had a boring offseason so at least we went out and mixed things up a little bit. I'm hoping we will go out and use our remaining MLE on a big man. Someone like Calvin Booth or Matt Bonner (someone we haven't mentioned yet) that can come off the bench and help our team.
I agree with you guys it could have been worse, we could have made no moves. I think we improved our team from last year and also added players in positions we needed. I think at the end of last year we were just out of players. No other team could have been dipping in the NBDL as much as we were. I think we have to have one of the stronger benches in the league as far as talent. I think getting a coach that has won will help us. Maybe we did all we needed to and getting those other players would have been bad for the development of dwight. I guess all we can do is wait till training camp to see how were really are. Looking good on paper means nothing.

I believe the Magic are set and won't add any player for the moment. Whoever we add now will likely get a non-guaranteed contract and has to prove himself during training camp / preseason. So just let us see how the team does during training camp and preseason. Training camp starts Oct 4th.
