http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/writ...en/12/20/davis/ J-Rich credits him with taking his game to the next level. so thats why we keep bringing him back
Yeah, I read that article a few days ago and it got me thinking about how important he is to the team. Monta has also been quoted as saying that Cheany is his biggest mentor on the team. I would love to resign cheany to the minimum just so that he can keep mentoring the young guys and providing a good example, even if hes on the inactive list most of the year.

Perhaps as an assistant coach or special consultant to the team? It makes sense to have him around, but bring him back in a coaching capacity, and you can write his contract off as facility expense rather than team payroll, which is more closely monitored, and is capped, rather than the alternative. If a guy sticks around simply to tutor, he clearly has a price to do it in a more formal role, and I think Calbert's expertise would be highly valued among his peers, and the professionals that run the club. I loved having Calbert in Boston when he was here because he always gave a little extra, and I'm glad to see he's duly appreciated out in Oakland too. You guys know your stuff.
One thing that I noticed about Calbert is that when Baron and J-Rich are on the bench, Baron moves whoever is sitting next to Calbert and sits there. He J-Rich and Baron always are laughing, joking, and having fun. He seems to be well liked so it is good he is still a Warrior

Thumb up is basically whichever side the ball goes to the player on the block screens up allowing the wing to try to penetrate. It usually turns into a jack-up three though. Lt's fire Monty and get a real coach like Paul Silas!
haha, love the sig...thought i was the only 1 who noticed that he subs out the stars at the most inopportune times.
I wish we still had Muss...he was a great coach, but the team used him as the scapegoat since we sucked.
