hoopshype just confirmed that the Cavs have signed Damon Jones.
With Damon off the Market who will the Heat go after now with their MLE?
I think Payton would fit in perfectly and be a really good back-up PG

Well, theres not many Point Guards left for us, now that Damon is gone. But honestly Damon was amazing at shooting threes and helped us alot. But when people are double teaming shaq and leave the shooter wide open most nba players can hit that also. Damon was a good three point shooter but he wasnt fastbreak like we will be this year and he didnt do much beside shoot threes. What good PG's are left? Payton..., i aunno about that he is a vet and was amazing, but now hes old and angry.

I believe Gary Payton will be the likely choice. I'm happy for the Cavs but sorry for the Miami Heat.

No one is more excited than Latrell Sprewell. He's probably licking his chops at the full MLE from the Heat. Unfortunately for Sprewell, the Heat have Eddie House as their backup plan incase Damon Jones didn't re-sign.

I think I?m the only one who feels that the loss of Damon Jones and Eddie Jones was a huge loss to the team and the additions of Antoine Walker and Jason Williams weren?t that great. One of the reasons why the Heat were such an effective team was because of their inside-outside attack. When Shaq drew doubles, the Jones? made them pay but now that they?re gone, who?s going to do it? Walker? Give me a break.

Damon Jones shot 43.2% from three-point range which was 5th in the league in 3P%. While many of his jumpers came from Wade?s penetration and Shaq?s passing out of the post, there?s no question he was the perfect shooter to compliment the two. Also, another thing that made Jones so valuable was his ability to play both backcourt positions and especially point guard. He took great care of the ball and had a 3.57 A/T ratio ? 4th in the league.

Jason Williams is nothing close to an efficient scorer and has a 41.3% field goal percentage. He?s also nothing special from behind the arc shooting 32.4%. While Williams does take care of the ball, he ranks 16th in A/T ratio while Jones is 12 ranks ahead of him. Overall, I see the Heat struggling by not being able to re-sign Jones. One of the reasons why they were such a lethal team was because of the outside presence the Jones? brought to their offensive arsenal.

Eddie House is really are best option right now. I certainly do not mind having him in his days with the Heat he was the man. And everyone here in Miami would talk about how they loved that catch and shoot baller for the Heat that wears the high socks. lol Eddie is great and IMO I would rather have him then DJ.
