"I think something [a trade] eventually will get done," said Magic General Manager John Weisbrod. "He [Gooden] could be one of the guys [traded], but at this point I don't know if he's any more likely to go than any of the other guys that aren't our new ones."

Weisbrod declined to discuss which teams he was talking to about Gooden, but NBA sources have identified Dallas, Cleveland, Minnesota and Golden State as teams that have shown interest.

What guys do you think we could get from these teams for gooden?

I really like the attitude that he has toward this whole thing, it shows his maturity. But sadly, he didn't do much last season due to Howard starting in front of him and now it is almost certain that he is going to be traded. As for who we could get for him? We could get just about any good roleplayer that the teams above have listed due to the fact that Gooden has potential, is young, and isn't sucking up a whole lot of salary cap space.

I think at this point that it comes down to what the Magic want. The backcourt that they have right now is really loaded and they really don't need anyone else back there at the moment, so it's pretty obvious that they are going to go for someone in the center position or maybe the power forward position. Someone was saying Mobley and Gooden for J-Rich...but I doubt that would happen.

Well, G.S seems like the most logical choice since he lives there.Reading that article it seems that Weisbrod is intending to keep his newly aquired players. I can't see trading Gooden without trading Cato or Mobley. I wouldn't be surprised if we got 2 bench players for him.

Gooden straight up for J-Rich wouldn't make sense for us unless Mobley was in the deal. Gooden straight up for Dampier wouldn't make much sense either.

I'm willing to bet we won't be getting equal value for him.

What ever happens we better not regret this like with Big Ben, i really hope we get a player of equal value, someone who can help out our team. Dampier for Gooden would make no sense at all. We are better off tryin to get J-Rich for Gooden and another player.

Lets see...

From____ we could get:

Dallas-Danny Fortson/Shawn Bradley. :thumbsdow
Clevland-Tony Battie/DeSagana Diop. :thumbsdow
Minnesota-Michael Olowokandi/Ervin Johnson/Mark Madsen
Golden State-Dale Davis/Adonal Foyle/Clifford Robinson

I could see ending up with the Candyman...He could be sort of a bust, since he didn't look like he belonged in Minnesota or on a basketball court period...But we could ask for a 1st round pick...Then J-Rich may be involved in GS...What about the Bucks?...

For what it's worth, I've heard rumblings that there is interest in a S&T, Mihm for Gooden.

Not sure of the particulars, but Orlando was listed as one of the 4 teams that have expressed interest in Mihm. Don't know much of the particulars beyond that though.

Why would Dampier for Gooden be a bad trade?

I really feel Drew could be a great player in this league. I think we should keep him and see how he plays early on. There's no way we're gonna get someone back who's as good. Patience

First off it wouldn't work because the salaries are not withing 15%. Dampier will likely get about 8 Million per year or higher, and Gooden is still on his rookie contract.

Even if the trade worked salary wise, it wouldn't be a good trade because Gooden would be coming off the bench most likely to back up Murphy. Both are young players with starter quality. Murphy has been hobbled with Ankle Injuries, that's the only reason why I can see this trade would make sense.

Maybe they can work out some deal with Seattle, Portland and/or NJ in a multi player deal that would See Abdur-Rahim end up in Seattle or NJ, and Gooden end up on the team that Rahim didn't end up on.

If I think that the best plaace for him to go would be either the wolves or the bulls. The wolves can offer up kandi who although not being a good all star player like expected when he was drafted he is a solid big man who may be able to get you a couple points and blocks when healthy the magic need that to back up cato. Then we could also toss in wally in the trade and it becomes more sutible for both teams. Though more players would have to be tossed in from our side with gooden since he is still on his rookie contract.

The magic are shaping up

first off i would like to ask if mobley and gooden got traded for J_ rich

Would the magic possibly start Jameer at the pg and start steve at the sg.

Minnesota only good in my eyes would be madsen
Golden State Clifford, J-rich, ?

Cant wait to see what happens.

I dont think there intrested in giving up mobely any more though. So I dont now how that trade would work out for them. Personally I think at this point though J-rich is athletic mobely offers a more dementianal game for them. He can shoot the 3 and drive not just dunk. Though j-rich can to I dont think as well as mobely does it.

Here's a kandi trade that works cap wise:

Orlando trades:
C Andrew DeClercq
PF Drew Gooden

Orlando receives:
C Michael Olowokandi
PF Mark Madsen

TRADE ACCEPTED(RealGM)

Orlando's Lineup:

PG: Francis/Nelson
SG: Mobley/Bogans
SF: Hill/Turk/Garrity
PF: D.Howard/Madsen
C: Olowokandi/Cato

Wolves Lineup:
PG: Cassel
SG: Srewell
SF: KG???
PF: Gooden
C: Johnson

I dunno if KG can play 3. If not Gooden can come off the bench...

Michael Olowakandi? Hell no. We don't need that overpriced garbage in Orlando. He's a bust and always will be. I remember the Magic wanted to sign him last year but signed Tyronn Lue instead due to him not being able to fit under our cap.

He went to Minnesota with high expectations and was nothing but an injury-prone eyesore.

Hey ur D12 on RealGM! I just saw that post there...

I wonder why Cavs don't want to trade. Maybe Magic is asking for a 1st round pick or something...

If that's true I dont see why the Cavs won't pull the trigger on that deal...

Because their worried about trading their backup c with Z having a history of injuries problems.

also battie is a proven defender and also gets rebounds. with such a young team the cavs dont want to give up their veterans.

I dont see the cavs getting gooden without trading a big man to the magic. If they are worried about big Z trade him to the magic we could use a 7 foot 2 center that has been an all star. LOL. Anyway if they dont trade battie I dont see them getting gooden.
