Sony signed a ten year, $2 billion (£1.3 billion) contract for the IPL's global broadcasting rights, while Google paid an undisclosed amount to show match clips on YouTube.

These contracts were signed by Lalit Modi, the suspended IPL chief executive who was ousted on Monday and charged on 22 counts of corruption and bringing Indian cricket into disrepute.
