GORDON Brand Jnr is a shot off the lead after an opening 71, one-under, in the De Vere Collection PGA Seniors' Championship at Slaley Hall, Northumberland. Glenn Ralph, the Scottish Seniors' Open champion, shares the lead, while Sam Torrance, Ross Drummond and Alastair Webster are all a shot behind Brand Jnr. Sandy Lyle and Andrew Oldcorn both opened with 74s.
