Sounds like Vinny is planning on going with Hinrich, Gordon, and Rose for the bulk of the backcourt minutes. That is good, because Larry Hughes and Thabo Sefolosha aren't particularly good at the game of basketball.

I think Vinny realizes that he can get a monster year out of Gordon, since Gordon will want to do well for his next contract. This Vinny guy might just work out alright.

This whole Gordon situation was ridiculous. Signing him to the QO is as good as a one year rental of a person in my book. I fully expect Gordon to put up a huge year this year and then jet out of here to take a large contract elsewhere. If he returns beyond this season, I'll be shocked.

The problem is, where does he bolt to? Miami, yes, they can sign him for more than the Bulls were offering, but not a terrible amount. He can get the max in Oklahoma City, but does he really want to go there? It will all depend on how well Gordon does this year. If he plays himself into a max or near-max deal, I think he will probably stay in Chicago, since that is the best team he can go to, and they can also give him the most money. If he stays at his current level, that guy between MLE and Max money, I expect him to go to Miami.

I think the odds of Gordon staying are near zero.

I'm with Denny here. Regardless of how well he plays, I don't think the Bulls are going to ever view him as valuable as he thinks he is. If he was going to stay for the long term, I think they would have gotten a deal done this summer. They didn't, so I think Gordon is as good as gone.
