    THAT GUYS SUCK!! Nah. lol.

Throughout the game, I just had these two separate thoughts going through my head. Where do you think Boston would be with only Pierce and Garnett? How about Pierce and Allen?

Obviously they wouldn't have as much wins, but where do you see the Celtics in terms of competition? They would probably own the East, in both scenarios, but the West would be slightly different.

This is the beauty of it all. Us Celtics fans have been thinking "what if" for a loooong time. The point of everything that Danny Ainge has put together is to forget thinking about "what if" and solely focus on "what is."

So without trying to sound like a smug dick, I don't care what we'd be like if we didn't make one of those deals. We are what we are, and that's all that matters to me at this point.

I think either way the Celtics would be a top team in the East. I'm not sure if they'd be title contenders, but I could easily see them nabbing the first seed with only a Pierce/Garnett or Pierce/Allen duo. Pierce and Garnett is one hell of a duo, and in the weak eastern conference, they could have been a "lesser" version of Kobe and Shaq, which is enough to get the job done in the east. A Pierce and Allen duo may not look as attractive, but keep in mind the pieces they traded away to get Garnett. They'd have Pierce and Allen to go along with guys like Al Jefferson, who is having himself quite a season in Minnesota, and guys like Ryan Gomes and Sebastian Telfair (who is actually playing pretty well this year).

Obviously they wouldn't be where they are now, but the Celtics would still be a very dangerous team, and a top team in the East.

after 22 years without a title, at least 18 of them being mediocre to super crappy, I'll take what we have now and be thankful.

I hope someone is sending Kevin McHale roses, fine alcohol and thank you notes every week too [IMG]

It's just stupid when people say "what if we didn't get Garnett" and then forget ignorantl that we would still have the players and picks we traded for him..it would be Pierce/Allen/Jefferson

I hope you're not referring to me, because all I'm doing is generating a small discussion.
