It appears the prophecy has been fulfilled, Luke Ridnour will be headlining the Got Milk? Rookie Challenge at the All-Star Game (or is that, Luke Ridnour will be headlining the All-Star Game at the Got Milk? Rookie Challenge?)

    Nevertheless, rejoice.

I heard they hired extra security to keep all the girls (and a few guys) from mobbing him.

I don't think the National audience is ready for a player of Luke's quality...let's pray for the best.

You just watch, they'll play scrubs like Dwyane Wade, Kirk Hinrich and LeBron James ahead of him. Which I suppose is fair enough, they want a fair contest, not a sophomore domination.

They should have an IL for the rookie team, then Casanova would have made it.

He deserves it. I have a feeling that he's gonna get some nice dimes in the three minutes or so that he plays.

I predict that he'll score 25 points and dish out 10 assists while making the crowd go nuts w/ sensational crossovers and dunks.

    Oops...wrong Sonic.

Desmond Mason doesn't play for the Sonics anymore silly...and he's not a sophomore or rookie.

What does Flip have to do with this season's game?

Just because he went well last season, that really isn't a basis to have a shot at Luke (and even if it wasn't intended like that, it's how it came across).

Relax, Supersonic. Luke Ridnour definitely deserves to be on this team and I'm sure that in a game where defense will be at a minimum that he will put on a nice show for the fans.

You guys know that I poke a lot of fun at Ridnour but he has definitely been one of the reasons why we have been able to have the success that we have. I think that he has a real future in this league and that whatever praise he is receiving he deserves.

Considering the fact that Flip doesn't get any time all I have to go on is what he did last year. I know it gets annoying but I'm just disappointed in how things have gone for him this season. I'll make it a point though not to come across like I'm discounting the contributions made by other players on the Sonics roster (w/ the exception of Antonio Daniels~my least favorite Sonic for reasons outside of basketball).

I was secretly hoping he would, too.

Can't leave us in the dark now Shieko, you've already said too much.

    Please explain

AD has always been a class act on and off the floor. Something must really have changed from now to when he was in San Antonio If he has actually done something wrong off the floor.

Antonio Daniels has always seem like to me to be the back stabbing type. He does whatever it takes to get on the good side of management, and that normally means that he kisses the ass of the team's best player. He did it in San Antonio with Tim Duncan and he's doing it now in Seattle w/ Ray Allen.

I never really liked him b/c it always seemed to me like he was plotting to get playing time. Last year in the press he would always make slick comments about Flip's defense and shot selection and how the team was a much cohesive unit when he was in the game. That alone made me really skeptical of his motives.

What really did it for me was some of the things that he did this year during training camp. As you all know I'm good friends w/ Dave Young our second round draft pick this year. He told me that he did his best to discredit any contributions made by any guard on the roster outside of Ray Allen. To the point where he was lobbying to Rick Sund to get people released and making demands about his own worth. I'm not saying that players got cut b/c of Daniels but the fact that he openly made a plea to upper management for their release says volumes about his character.

Plus one of my best friends stars for Bowling Green University basketball team and he also said that Daniels was an ass. I never liked him and I think that he is doing a bang up job fooling people into believing that he is a character guy.

Interesting. I remember someone (might have been notMuchgame) telling me that his sister went to school with Rashard Lewis. Apparently he used to be a real jerk, acting very arrogantly and above everyone else. Looking at him today you couldn't see it, he seems such a quiet and humble guy who does a lot for the community.

Not saying there's no merit to what you're saying, it just seems very hard to believe from a guy like AD. A lot of people aren't what they seem I guess.

Daniels never kissed Duncan's ass, they were very or should I say still are very close friends and talk to each other quite alot of the time. He had no reason to suck up to him. Thats Charles Barkley's job.

Basically you are basing alot of this on theories and I can tell you from after spending some time with AD in the past he is far from a bad guy. Has always seemed to carry himself with class off the floor and mainly with the fans.

Who knows, he may have completely changed but I doubt It.

When people stand out and get a lot of attention people in HS tend to believe they have to be an asshole..whether they are or not..

If I was a colossal bust out of Bowling Green University I'd want to campaign against Flip Murray and deride David Young too...

If you guys don't want to know my "theories" about AD don't ask me to elaborate.

I know that Dave wouldn't fabricate any stories about Daniels. Daniels had absolutely nothing to do w/ his release, but the fact that he was trying to intimidate some of the training camp invitees into thinking that he had a real voice into who stays on the roster and who goes says a lot about his insecurities.

The overseas player who I highlighted in my NBA Journeyman series (I don't want to keep dropping names) also told me that AD sabatoged many pick up games in the summer time and was arrogant as hell off the court (trying to one up people about everything, women included). I failed to mention that earlier b/c that didn't really play into why I don't like him.

If you take a look at AD's career he struggled mightily in Vancouver when there wasn't a quality franchise player for him to get into good graces w/ and he also struggled mightily in Portland where they were also searching for that positive franchise talent. AD has played exceptionally well this season but if someone asked me why I don't like him, those are my explanation.

Casual, you should really look into a career in forensics b/c I've never known anyone more interested in uncovering hard indisputable evidence.

'Spoon, you should just really look into finding a career. There seems to be a growing market for punchliners.
