6(6) Seattle Seahawks Russell Okung OT Oklahoma State 14(14) Seattle Seahawks (from Denver) Earl Thomas S Texas I think that is about as well as the team could have hoped for, right? Berry is probably better than Thomas, but Okung is significantly better than any O-lineman they coulda hoped of getting at #14... I think it's A- territory, personally. Good first round. Ed O.
Okung + Thomas (was thinking Mays 2 months earlier) was pretty much what I expected. Solid first round.
<---Seahawk fan pretty darn excited about today's proceedings. I was pushing a bit for what SF did...taking Okung (I thought we'd have to settle for Davis, superexcited about Okung) and then Iupati at 14. May not have helped our team a ton this year, but set the beginnings of a zone-blocking line and draft Locker next year. But when I saw all the odd choices 8-13, I knew that either Morgan or Earl Thomas were going to be available, and was pretty happy with either. Wish we had some ammo on Day Two...waiting until 60 b/c of Charlie Whitehurst doesn't seem like a landslide victory, but I'll reserve judgment for now. And I'm a Tebow fan. Sux that he went to the effin' Broncos. A for me. Safe picks from the value that dropped to us. They'd already traded away the juice needed to move up to get Okung if they needed to, or to go from 14 to 9 to get Spiller--so it could've been interesting. If KC takes Okung, do we take Berry and then take best OT available (probably Bulaga) at 14, or move up to get Davis?
