<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Toronto Raptors rookie Andrea Bargnani is back on the court.Although the seven-foot Italian isn't yet ready for game action, he shot around and did some light cardio Thursday, eight days after undergoing an emergency appendectomy. He expects to start full-contact practices in a week and hopes to get back into games shortly thereafter, in plenty of time for the playoffs."I want to get in shape again," Bargnani told reporters after his workout.Bargnani said he was still in some pain, but was improving."There is a little (pain), but that's normal," he said.Bargnani's return carries some added urgency with Monday's loss of forward Jorge Garbajosa to a season-ending ankle injury. But all-star forward Chris Bosh said Bargnani should pace himself as he works to return to the lineup."I know he's dying to play right now, but . . . (seeing) him slowly coming back is a good sign for us," Bosh said.</div>http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Basketball/NBA/T...3863029-cp.htmlI guess his recovery is going faster than expected. Hopefully he'll be back in game shape just before playoffs.
Awesome...Is he ahead of schedule. When can he suit up for us? We've got some serious big men depth problems right now, so I'm anxious for him to get back.

Yeah, they said Al Jefferson would be out a month after his appendectomy too, but he was back on the court in 2 weeks. So, due to that experience, I'm not surprised he came back earlier than expected. You guys need him ASAP after that Garbo injury.
ya, we do need him. He'll most likely start or be the 6th man for us when he comes back. But then its nice to hear some news on Bargnani and see him come back earlier then expected.
Great News. Really then Garbo is the only one Raptor out at playoff time. Real relief, we need Bargnani's outside shooting by playoffs.
athletes just bounce back quicker because they body is in such good shape.it's good to hear he's wanting to play now.show's he a gamer

The day of the surgery, he was expected to be back in 3 weeks, so it will probably be a week and a half to two weeks.

Its funny how people say we have extreme big man problems right now when we just shut down Shaq with Rasho and Hump on Wendsday.
