<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>BOSTON – The Boston Celtics announced today that the club has assigned Gerald Green to the Florida Flame of the NBA Development League (D-League). Green was originally sent to the Fayetteville Patriots of the D-League on January 6, 2006. In eight games (including five starts) with the Patriots, he averaged 12.6 points, shooting 45.5 percent from the three-point line, to go with 5.4 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 26.5 minutes per game. His best all-around game came at Florida February 2 when he scored 15 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, dished out 3 assists and swiped 3 steals. Green scored a season-high 21 points at Roanoke on January 27. Green, a 6-8, 200lb forward was selected by the Celtics 18th overall in the 2005 NBA Draft, coming out of Gulf Shores Academy in Houston, Texas. As a senior, Green averaged 33.0 points, 12.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game on his way to being a two-time All-State selection. In his junior season he led Gulf Shores to a 39-2 record as he averaged 28.8 points, 13.0 rebounds and 6.0 blocks per game. Green was named to the 2005 McDonald’s All-American Team where he won the Slam Dunk Contest and scored 24 points on 8-for-12 shooting, including 6-for-9 from three-point range. He was named MVP of the Reebok ABCD All-Star Camp in the summer of 2004.</div>Oh man, I loved watching Gerald play, even though it was just one game.
I'm okay with that. I want to get excited about him again, and i'd rather him perform in the D-League than sit here.
it was actually 2 games but anyway, IMO this season is in the tubes and I dont see why we dont give him time. Might as well get the youngins some time and sure up a nice lotto spot.
Build up his confidence then bring him back up, and get him some time...I am REALLY eager to see him play..

I think the reason why Green isn't seeing so much time is because Doc isn't ready to let this season go. We are just five games out of the playoffs, and have started to play some real good basketball. If we can carry our sucess into the second half of the season, then a playoff spot would come to no surprise.
