I was just wanting to hear what you guy's think about this signing of Griese, Good idea or bad? I don't think that it hurts us. It will move Orton to the 3 spot and maybe he can mature a little more. Do you think Griese can produce at the #2 spot, which he can move up to the #1 very quickly with our situation in Rex each year. Just curious for some reactions on this because alot of Chicago fans don't like the move. I don't know about the 5 year deal option when he is 31 but........

The Bears just got much better. The "Man from Michigan" is clearly the best QB in Chicago. He's your new starter and you should be thrilled.

The Bear defense and running game carried two back-up QB's last year, I say they'll be scary good with Griese under center.

    Smart move.

5 year deal probably is one year deal. He is competing for starting job, but he probably wont win it unless rex gets injured. The team loves rex, they will play thier hearts out for him. It is perfect signing cuz no more orton

Signing Griese means that they need a backup for Orton in case Grossman gets injured (which wouldn't be the first time) in the preseason. Basically what BF1 said.

I don't see this as a move that makes the Bears scary, but it is a good pick-up. I think he'll be able to help both of the young quarterbacks learn, but I really see him being the starter. If he's not the starter going into Week 1, he will be eventually.

I spoke with a big Bears fan and former friend/employee of Walter Payton today. He's pumped about the pick-up and says if Grossman wins the starting job, he'll lose it to Griese by week three.

    Orton's #3 without a doubt.

Ok as a bears fan i have to say i like the signing.. however if anyone has watched recent games where rex was healthy he did a great job of running the team.. look at our loss to carolina.. he dismantled the panther defense.. yes they dismantled our defense but at the same time if our D stayed strong we were heading to seattle.. Grossman will only get better since this is the first time he has had the same offensive cordinator and plan since his days at flordia.. Rex is a very good QB when healthy.. the only way griese sees the starting job is if rex goes down yet agian.. which could very well happen.. as far as him taking the job from rex without an injury is highly unlikely
