<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Stevenson's agreement all but ensures that the Wizards will not sign Spanish star Juan Carlos Navarro, who recently negotiated a way out of his contract with FC Barcelona.Several teams have contacted Grunfeld, the Wizards' president, with interest in acquiring Navarro's NBA rights, including Memphis, Cleveland and Miami. On Thursday, Memphis star Pau Gasol told the Memphis Commercial Appeal that he wants Navarro in a Grizzlies uniform next season.Gasol and Navarro came up together in Spain's national team system and remain close friends."He would love to play for Memphis," Gasol told the newspaper. "He would love to play next to me. He definitely wants to play in the NBA, and it would make the transition easier. Memphis would be the first choice but there are at least 10 teams after him."</div>LINKIts said that the Wizards are trying to ship off Etan Thomas with Navarro, this might be the reason Memphis waived Alexander Johnson. I wouldnt mind picking up Thomas, whos a beefy player, if we cna get Navarro. Getting Navarro will put a smile on Gasols face so it will be yet another move Gasol will like. Its just who do we have to give up. I highyl doubt we are going to send Kinsey or Warrick off, which is high speculation by fans, cause everytime Iavaroni and Wallace talk about the future of the team those two names pop up. I can see a deal like Stromile, conditional 1st and somehting else for Navarro and Thomas. Navarro would also bring good shooting too...
I would like to bring Stromile Swift to Washington. He would contribute a solid 8-10 points a night and quite frankly add a little more excitement on the floor. Bringing Swift in also doesn't pressure the Wizards to match too big of an offer given to Blatche. However, if there is anyway the wizards can get Warrick they have to jump at it. I also would like to see Damon Stoudamire in this deal. A veteran PG behind Daniels allows Arenas more rest during games. He may want to play 40 MPG but I'm sure every Wizards fan would agree that him and Caron should play less minutes during the regular season. Etan Thomas needs to be shipped off, he's simply too small and unathletic to deserve the minutes he recieved this season. Despite forming a great relationship with Eddie Jordan, Etan Thomas hurts chemistry with his continous fights in practice against Haywood. If Thomas gets shipped off, I hope that Brendan and Eddie can mend their relationship and create a situation where Brendan can get the minutes he wants. There is no doubt in my mind that Navarro will be traded. I just hope that we can squeeze out as much as possible for him. Just Stromile Swift will not be enough.
Yeah...thats why a 1st rnd pick or something of that sort will be shipped out too. We're gonna have to wait and see though, but Navarro is perfect for Memphis...
Actually, Swift wouldn't be that bad, especially if we run-and-gun.How about this:Juan Carlos Navarro and Etan Thomas for Dahntay Jones, Stromile Swift, and a 1st rounder.Navarro was arguably the best guard in Europe, and if there are at least ten teams after him this is a pretty fair deal. I just don't see much room for Jones on the Grizzlies, especially if they're getting Navarro and he isn't dealt. They already have Mike Miller, Rudy Gay, and Tarence Kinsey. He hasn't really had a lot of room/chances to grow and improve with the Grizzles, and he'd be a nice SG addition here in DC. Swift is looking to be dealt from Memphis, and he could give us something nice on the offensive end if we run.

No way of recieving Jones. How about this: Washington Trades: Etan Thomas Rights to Juan Carlos Navarro Memphis Trades: Stromile Swift Kyle Lowry First Round Draft Pick: Top 3 Restricted
It's almost a certainty that the Washington Wizards won't sign Juan Carlos Navarro now that DeShawn Stevenson is in the fold. The latest is that Navarro's fellow Spainard, Pau Gasol, said that he wants Navarro in a Memphis Grizzlies uniform. One rumored possibility was Memphis taking Navarro and Brendan Haywood, but Wizards' GM Ernie Grunfeld wanted to package Etan Thomas and his contract in the deal instead of Haywood. It wasn't clear which player the Wizards would take back but Stromile Swift, who has one year remaining on his deal, was a possibility. Link-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I think a deal like this could workout. We need an upgrade in our guard play, and Navarro is a good combo-guard. He's a little undersized to play the 2, but it could workout. Then we get another big man to upgrade our frontcourt. It really all depends on who we have to deal though.
Yeah, honestly I dont want to give up anybody excepy Stro, Stoudemire(I really dont even want to give him up), and Cardinal. Everybody else basicly fits very well in our system. Im not a huge fan of sending off 1st rnd picks, but this may me a trade where we might have to. And we didnt waive AJ just to waive him...theres a reason we needed the cap and roster spot.
