<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Forced toward the baseline and shoved out of bounds, Rudy Gay made certain that everyone in the building knew that the Grizzlies wouldn't have a problem scoring on this night. The Grizzlies' swingman tossed up a shot from out of bounds, and with plenty of English on it, the ball sailed from behind the backboard and hit the front of the rim. After a couple of bounces, the ball fell through the net. Gay just smiled. There was no such thing as degree of difficulty for the Grizzlies' offense Wednesday night as Memphis seemingly scored at will en route to a 130-114 victory over the New York Knicks in FedExForum. "Now the Grizzlies can get some good play on ESPN," Gay said. The Knicks were on the receiving end of whatever frustration the Grizzlies held over from Monday night when they fell behind by 38 points before losing to Atlanta. When the Grizzlies weren't making playground-caliber shots, they simply dropped bombs on the Knicks. Memphis converted 15 of 33 3-point tries, with many of those daggers thwarting New York rallies. Rookie guard Javaris Crittenton's career-high 23 points off the bench led eight Grizzlies in double-figure scoring. The only other time that's happened was March 16, 2003, at home against Atlanta. Gay added 21 points and rookie point guard Mike Conley chipped in 18 for the Griz, who shot 60 percent in amassing a season-high in points. "We played with a lot of confidence," said Griz head coach Marc Iavaroni. "Mike Conley is coming off pick and rolls like he has been knocking them down all his life. Rudy Gay is making shots like that and playing with a real presence. You start to think we are going to get some luck here tonight." Memphis notched its 20th win of the season and is two victories from matching last season's record. New York turned in another uninspired performance in losing its fourth straight overall and ninth in 10 games. "Defensively, it wasn't a good game for either team," Knicks coach Isiah Thomas said. The Grizzlies made eight of their first 10 shots and quickly jumped to a 21-7 lead. Their advantage grew to 20 points in the first half before they took a 74-60 lead into halftime.</div> Commercial Appeal
