<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Grizzlies add shooter Casey JacobsenBy Ronald TilleryContact July 23, 2007The Grizzlies finalized a deal Monday with sharpshooter Casey Jacobsen, a guard who last played in the NBA during the 2004-05 season when he split time with Phoenix and New Orleans. An NBA source confirmed that Jacobsen was in town Monday to sign the contract and visit with Griz personnel. Jacobsen signed a one-year contract. Jacobsen, 26, adds perimeter scoring the Griz sought in order to bolster their guard rotation. He came out of Stanford in 2002 and played 2 1/2 seasons with the Suns before being traded to the Hornets. Jacobsen played in 78 games, making 13 starts with Phoenix during the 2003-04 season, where he averaged six points and 2.6 rebounds while shooting 41.7 percent from 3-point range. During his three seasons, Jacobsen was a career 37 percent shooting from the 3-point line, averaging 5.9 points a game. -- Ronald Tillery: 529-2353</div>LINKI hope he can contribute...Marc Iavaroni obviously liked him in Phoenix.
Yeah, I was wondering what happened to this guy.. he's a pretty good shooter, and for a one-year deal, Memphis did pretty well. He's basically a taller, poor man's version of Mike Miller. I owned with him in NBA Live.
Hmm, Casey Jacobsen. I remember when he was one of the main SG's here in New Orleans during our dreaded 18-64 season. The guy is a smooth three point shooter, very smooth. I wouldn't say he's one-dimensional, but he loves the three and was definitely able to shoot off the dribble. I think he can definitely contribute to the Griz with some playing time.

I like this signing. He's a good shooter, which is what we needed, and should fit in well in our up tempo offense as far as spreading out the court. It's only a one year deal, so if he doesn't workout, peace!
Hes basically matt carrol. Shoots the ball well, decent ball handler, and not much of a defender. I like them both.
