<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">DALLAS (Ticker) -- The Dallas Mavericks and Memphis Grizzlies are both deep, talented teams coming off 50-win seasons and playoff appearances. That is where the similarities end. The unbeaten Mavericks continued to roll, riding six players in double figures to a 112-88 victory over the winless Grizzlies, who look nothing like the team that surprised the NBA last season. Michael Finley scored 23 points and Dirk Nowitzki added 22 and 13 rebounds for the Mavericks, who have looked awesome through their first three games. Despite adding seven new players, they are averaging better than 108 points per game and winning by an average of 16 points. One of the new players is center Erick Dampier, who had his best game thus far with 13 points and 18 rebounds. In the offseason, Dampier was courted by a handful of teams, including both the Grizzlies and Mavericks, who snared him in a sign-and-trade deal with Golden State. </div> Link This was my first opportunity to really use my League Pass so I didn't watch more than one quarter, but the Grizzlies looked improved. The main difference was that they really brought a hard work ethic that was non-existant in the first two games. They were hitting their shots in the first quarter, but they just collapsed in the fourth quarter and reverted to their old ways. It was a pretty up and down game, but in the end the Mavericks just wanted it more.
Last year they didn't start to put any space between themselves and the .500 mark until January, and played really well after the all-star break. I shouldn't be worried.
