An NBA source said the Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies, Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers have inquired about Tskitishvili. The Nuggets are in search of a defensive-minded swingman, and the 7-foot- 1, 235-pound Tskitishvili could be used as bait.</div>

Memphis has a plethora of swingmen, but matching the contracts will be the big problem. The only swingman we could trade straight up for Tskitishvili is Shane Battier, and I personally wouldn't do that trade. Skita may develop into an all-star caliber player, but he's too much of a gamble to throw away the glue that holds together your team for.

Mike Miller could be traded in a package deal for both Skita and Voshon Lenard. I'd love to deal Miller away for Skita and Lenard, but we can't really do any one player for two players trades. Our roster is full enough, especially at the wing. Also, last year Voshon alone averaged more points than Mike Miller as well as won the three point contest, so it's hard to tell if they'd let him go in this deal.

What do you think about Grizzlies wanting Skita?

I dont think they should do this. There a playoff team now and I dont think they would use him as a back up for anyone because they have so many swingmen. He might not even becomae that good anyway.

They don't need more backup swingmen. They need a centre.

    9 isn't enough?
This is like Mr. Burns' baseball team. "...Nine separate misfortunes? Ha!"

Skita is a big kid. He has the height to play Center. I'm sure with coaching he could put in some minutes every game downlow. However, realize that if we're going to trade for Skita, we're going to have to give up another SF (probably Miller), so it's not going to make any difference. I'd take Skita over Miller. I like Miller's game, but his back really concerns me. Skita on the other hand has more potential than Emeka Okafor.

Skita is only 21, so he's definitely still malleable. He came into the league pretty skinny and was more of a PF/SF, but he's bulked up quite a bit and although playing against some of the other C's in the league would be tough, he probably would fit in pretty well. Since he hasn't gotten many minutes though, I'm still unsure if he can be a true defensive presence, which is what the Grizz are probably hoping for. He's talented though, so it's not unforeseeable.

For one, Tskitishvili has played very well this summer. I've watched him a few times on NBA TV, and he looks very confident of his abilities. He showed really good handling for a man his size, and a nice outside stroke. To me, he is a better player than Jothanon Bender already, and still has more potential that Bender. That is very intriguing, and it would really great if West could pull a deal to get him.
