I didn't expect the Grizzlies to win this game, but close losses always hurt more than blowouts. The Grizzlies were without both Mike Miller and Stromile Swift tonight, so that didn't help much. The game was tied untill Chauncey Billups hit two free throws with .4 seconds left to give the Pistons the two point advantage and the win. The big dissapointment of the night was Jason Williams. Williams shot 0-2 (both shots being from three), had no points, and only had four assists in twenty-two minutes. It's time to look ahead to the Warriors. Boxscore

Good win for the Pistons, i'm sure they were happy Swift didn't play because the game could have easily gone the other way.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AllNet:</div><div class="quote_post">What luck? great teams win close basketball games, thats what they are suppose to do.</div> The players may be talented, but there's no denying that sometimes luck plays a big part in basketball games. Buzzer-beaters require both skill and luck. Either way, that was not the case in this basketball game (I'm not sure about the Raptors one). The Pistons were better at home than we were on the road.
Wow, the Pistons beat the Griz in similar fashion to Raptors last night. Vince hit a 3 with 5.9 remaining to send it into overtime, then he could have won it for them in overtime with the last shot a fade away from the baseline about 12 feet out(off a jump ball, then a few tips, then a rebound) but Ben Wallace blocked it. I had the same feelings, I didn't expect them to win, but it was fun - yet hard to watch.
I always hate real close wins, these really killed the Magic every time. Great for the Pistons though, they really are a great "team" and deserve every win they pull off. Afterall, everything happens for a reason, they got screwed before anyway, remember the Billups incident and the TMac not getting his free throws earlier in the Season? Tough luck for the Grizzlies, they've been playing so well this year, they'll continue to play good, especially once getting some extra, and somewhat needed help that they can obtain from next year's draft. I wonder who they'll get anyway and what they need. Probably more defense.
I just saw the replay, and I think that was one of the most bogus calls I've ever seen. Pau Gasol didn't touch Billups. The officials just didn't want there to be a no-call or offensive foul like the Timberwolves game so they got whistle happy. I rarely blame the officials, but this is what instant replay is for.
Tough loss for the Grizz, but that game definetely should have gone to OT. Gasol didnt' touch Billups. Just look at the replay.
Don't worry, Piston fans know how you feel about bogus calls, more so with Chauncey Billups I havn't seen the replay yet,so I will wait to see if it was a good call or not.
Seriously though, there definetely shouldn't have been a whistle blown. If Tmac gets hammered with 1 sec left and no foul, then they call this? That's whats bogus.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AllNet:</div><div class="quote_post">Don't worry, Piston fans know how you feel about bogus calls, more so with Chauncey Billups </div> I think the officials blew the whistle because of what happened last time with Chauncey Billups rather than what actually happened in this game. It's sad because the officials are supposed to be unbiased. Oh well, they do a good job 99% of the time.
That was the weakest call I have ever seen even if it wasn't in the last seconds. I thought the refs didn't call anything in the last seconds I guess I was way wrong.
