Grizzlies-Mavericks preview12:58 AM CST on Thursday, February 23, 2006By EDDIE SEFKO / The Dallas Morning News7:30 p.m., American Airlines Center, FSNSW; ESPN-FM (103.3), KFLC-AM (1270, Spanish)Series: Mavs lead 2-1 this season, 35-7 all timeKey matchupBobby Jackson vs. Jerry Stackhouse: With Jackson and Mike Miller, the Grizzlies have plenty of punch off the bench. Not as much as the Mavs but enough to get your attention. Jackson and Miller combined for 30 points and rookie Hakim Warrick added 15 in Memphis' win over Toronto on Tuesday. Stackhouse must rebound from the 2-of-9 shooting night he had against the Clippers on Tuesday.Inside the MavericksPerfect 10: They have won 10 games or more in six consecutive months. That streak is in danger, thanks to the short month. They are 7-1 in February. They must sweep the last three to reach 10 wins. For perspective, the Mavs had only one month in the '90s in which they won 10 games. The streak will end in April at the latest, when they have only nine games.Briefly: Proving that shooting percentage can be overrated, they have won nine consecutive games when shooting below 44 percent. ... The bench is outscoring opposing reserves by an average of 18 points in the last 17 games.Inside the GrizzliesPau-er player: Pau Gasol has led the Grizzlies in points, rebounds and assists in the same game six times this season, an indication his game has evolved. Only three players have accomplished the feat more than Gasol this season ? Kevin Garnett, LeBron James and Paul Pierce. Gasol is averaging career highs in each category (19.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists).Briefly: After losing six of seven, the Grizzlies have won four straight. ... Gasol has averaged 24.8 points in the streak. ... Point guard Damon Stoudamire (knee) is out for the season.PROBABLE STARTERSGrizzlies Pos. Hard matchup, last one was a close game, only took the lead in the last seconds. I'm a little worried about this one, hopefully we pull it out. It's in Dallas, so let's hope for some home cooking.
Unfortunately Pau Gasol might be rejuvenated after the all-star break. Expect to see him full of energy tonight. With that said I think the mavs will still win this 94-89 but it will be tough.
This grizzlies team is really good. Dallas is down 56-47 at halftime. Josh Howard sprained his ankle. Hopefully he will be ok.
Yes, go Grizzlies! I really like the Griz and I want you guys to get the #4 seed. Pau Gasol is going to dominate you guys in the 2nd half...hopefully.

Nice to see them blow one.

Gotta love Bobby Jackson getting owned by Dirk at the end of the game.
The suns might be playing the Grizzlies in the first round. 2 against the 7. That would be interesting.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Yes, Dirk owned a guard, woohoo! lolCongrats on yer stinkin win!</div>What's with your bitterness. And I think mavsfan meant great block on BJax, a guy who called Dirk soft. Talk about showing him up.

They used to be my 2nd favorite team until I joined the forums, but now they die. :brucelee:  I don't think it'll be Suns vs. Grizzlies. I'm expection Suns vs. Hornets. That's what I want.
