Was anyone else shocked at how empty the FedEx Forums was tonight? Even in our worst seasons the Rose Garden was never that empty - even for preseason games. If it wasn't for Outlaw's fan club you wouldn't have known anyone was there judging by the crowd noise.

Memphis is probably the poorest market in the NBA and their team is horrible, so with a bad economy, of course no one will show up.

    That would be New Orleans.

    THAT would be Memphis.

Funny, I didn't hear about Ewing's throwing his name into the mix for the Kings' impending coaching opening. Nor do I hear anyone else jockeying for it either. The Kings are bleeding money, have a CBA-caliber roster and may be bound for another city in a couple of years. What, that doesn't sound enticing?

Put Charlotte on that list too. The Raps just played in their arena and it was absolutely empty. The entire platinum section was sparsely populated, with minimal crowd noise.

This was one of Stern's biggest blunders.

They left this for a dump known as Memphis, TN.

Yea, Memphis is in the same boat though, and they aren't winning, so they are in just as big of a crunch $$$ wise

Y'know, this gives me an idea. Maybe if Sac, Memphis, NO, and Charlotte want to move, they could all move to Portland. I think this town could support 5 basketball teams. There would be a game at the RG every night (and the occasional double-header to boot).

seattle will have a team by 2011

How about hartford? prob too small but cant be worse then OKC. Uconn is fucking HUGE here. Its all this state has. You know its bad when a minor league hockey team does well.

One condition: each of the other 4 teams must let the Blazers pick a player from their roster as "territorial compensation."

Wouldn't they be better off charging half as much for tickets, doubling the attendance, making more off concessions and parking, and filling enough seats to make it look like an interested audience? Surely, they must be on the wrong side of the supply and demand tipping point.

its karma for leaving Vancouver.....they were getting decent numbers till it became known that the owner was moving the team...then they said f it why should i go if they were moving?

would any fans attend the last 2 years if your team stunk and they were moving? answer: no.

We'll take Chris Paul, Kevin Martin, Emeka Okafor, and OJ Mayo. Yeah... that's a lot of guards... :devilwink:

Still doesn't take away from the fact they suck, but cutting ticket prices 2/3 would probably increase their attendance somewhat.
