Wells did not attend Memphis' Sunday morning shootaround and then was banned from FedExForum for Game 4, according to several sources. Coach Mike Fratello said before the game that he and Wells mutually agreed he would not be on the bench for Game 4. Wells, whose contract expires this year, was benched for Game 2 after choosing not to practice Tuesday. Fratello played Wells in Game 3 to a mixed reaction. When asked this week about his relationship with Fratello, Wells said, "I love Coach," and rolled his eyes. </div> Source
Bonzi Wells is an incredibly talented player, but doesn't seem to respond well when things go badly. He would be a great addition to a winning team, but he seems like a real pain in the rear if a team is losing. Great response in Game 4 from the Grizz players. I thought they really played their hearts out, but just faced a better team. I'm sure they'll be back in the playoffs again next year.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"He doesn't like me. It's ridiculous," Wells said in a telephone interview Monday night. "I didn't do anything. This is so biased. There are so many holes in it. If I got suspended for something real they would have said something. But I'm just as puzzled as everyone else." </div> http://www.commercialappeal.com/mca/grizzl...3747559,00.html Fratello's substitutions in the playoffs have made everyone very angry. There's going to be some great changes coming soon.
